Cafuné
(v.) running your fingers through your lovers hair
-Elora-
"So where'd you disappear too?" Dalton questions, leaning against the wall.
"Nowhere." I tell him, grinning.
Elijah stands beside me, grinning too, one of his arms wrapped around my waist as he pulls me into his side.
"Mmh, sure." Dalton rolls his eyes, tries to hide the small smile playing at his lips.
"Did you have fun?" Elijah asks, pulling me in front of him as he wraps both arms around my waist, resting his head atop of mine.
"What?" Dalton whips his head up to face us, pinches at the tips of his ears to try and hide the fact they've turned pink.
"With Isla." I clarify. "Did you like her?"
By the time Elijah and I made our way back to Dalton and Isla, an hour and a half later, Dalton informed us that Isla had just left, saying she needed to babysit her younger sister.
I texted to ask if she got home okay and to say sorry for ditching her to which she replied that she did in fact get home okay and that it's okay because Dalton wasn't as bad as she thought he was going to be.
"She's okay, I guess." Dalton shrugs, shuffles on his feet. Hits his right hand into his thigh three times, a tell tale sigh he's lying.
Okay my ass, he likes her.
"Just okay? Nothing else?" Elijah inquires. "Do you think she's pretty?" I jump right ahead.
Elijah squeezes my waist but I only shrug, it's a fair question.
Dalton shuffles on his feet, avoids our stare. "Yeah I guess she's pretty, why you asking?"
"I think she's pretty." I tell him, bumping my elbow into Elijah's chest as I ask him too, "Do you think she's pretty Elijah?"
"Sure." Elijah answers and I swivel around to face him, raising an eyebrow.
Why's he lying? She's insanely pretty and there's no need to hide that fact. He'd be stupid not to find her pretty.
"Sure? You don't think she's pretty?" I question.
"I think you're pretty." He smiles like that solves anything and I melt the tiniest bit.
"Yeah but do you think she's pretty?"
"Is this a test?"
"Why would this be a test?"
Elijah glances at Dalton quickly, mouthing 'help?' to which Dalton offers nothing. Why would he need help? It's a simple question, he's allowed to find other people pretty, I find other people pretty all the time.
None of them are as pretty as Elijah obviously. Elijah's on another level, beautiful even. But I'm still able to appreciate that other people are pretty too.
