Consenescere
(v.) to grow old and gray together-Elijah-
6 months later
"Good luck."
Leaning back against the wall I cross my arms over my chest, raise a brow when Isla leans up and kisses Daltons cheek before turning swiftly to run away, cheeks aflame.
Leaving a slightly flustered and very confused dalton behind, his eyes trailing her disappearing figure. Cheeks also on fire as he blushed profusely from the slightest display of affection.
"They so like each other." Daze whispers up at me. Grinning ear to ear that her matchmaking plans have started to show some progress.
"Definitely." I agree, wrap an arm around her waist to pull her into my side.
Dalton and Isla have grown a lot closer in the 6 months they've known each other. Claiming to be only friends but the last few weeks have showed otherwise.
Dalton can't go one hang out without bringing her up, always smiling at his phone from a text she's sent, instantly finding her in a room full of people.
They claim to only be friends but he's admitted she's the prettiest girl he's ever seen.
Which is how it was with Elora and me in the beginning so I know it'll end up progressing into more.
I'm happy for him. Glad he's over his little crush on blue.
Who's been involved in a on again off again relationship with Meeks for the last few months. Together one week, breaking up the next only to be together again by the end of the month.
It's a stupid cycle and I don't see much point in it when all they do together is argue.
Either Meeks has been caught looking at other girls or he's accusing Blue of having a crush on Dalton.
Elora agrees with him on that point. Having pointed out to me the numerous number of times she's caught blue staring at Dalton and Isla with a certain type of longing one only has when they've lost something they never knew they had to begin with.
Personally I think Blue thought Dalton was going to pine after her forever and she could do what she liked because he'd always be there as a backup. As a reserve if she found no one else.
I don't know whether she's realised she likes him too late or if she's missing his affection.
"Elijah, move your ass." Casey shouts, pointing his thumb over his shoulder to indicate for me to enter the changing rooms.
"Coming, coming." I call back but I don't move from my place and my arm what's securely wrapped around dazes waist tightens the slights bit.
"Good luck in your game." Elora whispers, leaning up to kiss the end of my nose.
"Don't need luck when I got you cheering for me." I grin, tug at the end of my jersey that's she's currently drowning in.
My eyes catch sight of her painted cheeks and my grins grows a little wider. It doesn't seem possible that I could have the prettiest girl cheering for me, on my side, undoubtedly watching my every movement because she doesn't think there's anything else worth looking at.
