Chapter 20

Third person p.o.v-

"You can lie to me, avoid me, ignore me, but you can't run away from me..... Lee Y/N"

Your eyes widened in shock as his words pierced the air, catching you completely off guard. The weight of his revelation sank in, leaving you stunned and your heart racing extremely fast. Its beats echoed loudly in the quiet room, a palpable manifestation of your surprise.

But how? How could he possibly know that you are Y/N? You've guarded that secret closely, shared it with no one. The mystery of his knowledge gnawed at your thoughts, weaving through your mind like an intricate puzzle. As Jungkook closely observed your every facial expression and listened to the fast rhythm of your heart, a knowing chuckle escaped his lips, amused by your reaction. He started caressing your face and said with a smirk-

"You're making it far too obvious.....'' he stated ''If you aim to deceive someone, then learn to conceal that shocked expression from your face," he remarked, his tone casual yet pointed as you continued to gaze at him with widened eyes. "It's peculiar, isn't it?  Even I felt a sense of weirdness upon discovering the truth. Some hours ago, I received that video,'' he stated signaling towards the broken cd. ''And you're well aware of how I obtained it," he added,(here he is talking about him being a mafia as y/n already knows that.) "I know you must be disappointed in me, but trust me, I had reasons to become one." he continued-

"Some hours ago, when I watched that video, I felt nothing. Literally no emotions. For me, It was merely a montage of cries and screams,..... utterly tedious to watch. It's rather odd, don't you think? Watching that footage evoked no emotions within me; it felt as though I was observing a stranger with no connection to myself...... But when I see you looking hurt like this,'' he caressed your hair ''I feel intense anger bubbling inside me. It makes me want to find that person who did this to you and kill them mercilessly, removing their existence from this world."

"In both scenarios, person's face and body are same, yet my reactions differ," he continued, his voice softening slightly. "This realization prompted me to think why. Why i fell a deep connection with you? Then it dawned on me—it's because you are Lee Y/N." He tenderly brought your hand to his lips, pressing a gentle kisses to your each bruised knuckles.

"Because Lee Y/N was the only one who was precious to me from the start."

Hearing his words you got again shocked but soon that shock turned into anger., You felt anger rushing through your veins. The man in front of you had left you in your hardest time not only that he never even cared to check whether you were alive or dead. And now he suddenly showed up, and was acting like he cared about you. Like seriously? did he really think that you will buy into this crap?

"Calm down, Y/N... calm down... he's just trying to provoke you. He's just messing with you," you thought in your mind. "Lies... complete lies..., You liar... stop lying, you bastard... if you really cared about me that much, then you wouldn't have left me in the first place. You wouldn't have made me wait for you all these years." Feeling the anger, you slapped his hand from yours harshly and sat upright on the floor.

"Jeez, I thought you were a bit screwed up, but now I see you're completely insane.'' you said holding your head as it was hurting like hell ''Have you lost your mind, you crazy bastard? What nonsense are you spouting? You're infuriating me now. That day, you nearly killed me over this nonsense, and now you're bringing it up again. Lee Y/N this... Lee Y/N that....,'" you seized his collar and pulled his face closer. "If you love her that much, why didn't you go to her instead of eating my brain cells ?"

Jungkook's smile faltered upon hearing your words. Hurt flashed in his eyes briefly which made you confuse. He closed his eyes and sighed. "I can't... I can't go to her, even if I wanted to."

"Why?" you demanded, irritation evident in your tone.

"Because she's dead," he replied, and the ground seemed to slip beneath you and your hold on his collar loosened.

"Wh...what?"

"Yeah, she's dead. She died on the day of the accident, right infront of me...... Even after seeing me..... she closed her eyes as if she had no regrets. That's when, I felt that the person in front of me wasn't Lee Y/N at all. Because the Lee Y/N I know, wouldn't have closed her eyes just like that, especially not after seeing me."

His words struck you like a physical blow, your breath hitched and a sharp pain gripped your chest. You felt like someone is squeezing your heart painfully preventing it to beat further. Everything around you started to appear hazy. "Aaahh..." a groan escaped your lips as your heart threatened to stop altogether. Placing a trembling hand over your chest, you squeezed your eyes shut because of unbearable pain, struggling to draw in each labored breath. It didn't take Jungkook long to realize that you were experiencing a panic attack, this time far more severe than before.

Until now, you had clung to a sliver of hope that you might one day return to your own body, but now, that hope shattered into irretrievable fragments. You got in accident around two months ago. Your original body must've destroyed by now. You can't go back in your body even if you wanted to. The reality was too much to bear.

Seeing your distress, Jungkook pulled you close, settling you onto his lap. He wrapped your legs around his waist and buried your face in the crook of his neck, bringing his nose close to your neck. He started sniffing your addictive scent, which seemed like a drug to him. You were panting hard due to the panic attack, your breath falling over his neck.

"Hey! It's okay...... Just breathe.....," he whispered soothing words into your ears and tucked your hair behind your ear, as you listened to him with half-opened eyes. "Let's make a deal, shall we? I know how stubborn you are.  and won't admit this easily So I give you 30 days. During this time, I will make you admit that you are my Y/N. And once you accept that, you will be mine forever... I won't let you go, even if you try your hardest." He kissed your temple gently and began to caress your hair, while you kept breathing heavily. "But if you keep your mouth shut for these 30 days and don't confess about you being Lee Y/N, then I will do whatever you want and never bother you again."

"It'll be so painful to let you go," he continued, his voice tender, "but I'll manage. Just remember one thing, I'm not a patient man.'' he kissed your ear ''I can endure your every tantrums, your lies, your anger, your resentment........ But if you try to leave me, I won't tolerate that. Because I'm not a forgiving person."

Your eyelids grew heavy as the world around you blurred, every muscle in your body feeling weighted down. Jungkook's words faded into the background, and you struggled to keep your eyes open.

"It's okay, Sleep tight for some time. It's okay, my love... it's okay... it's okay," Jungkook's soothing voice fell on your ears. You again got shocked hearing the word my love from his mouth but at the same time, you finally felt some peace feeling the warmth of his embrace and soothing words. You finally closed your eyes, taking a break from another stressful day.

Oblivious to the fact that a new chapter of your life is going to start.
