I want to rip my heart from my chest
And hear its insolent protest.
Sporadic beating like a band
That refuses to understand the demand
Of the voice without autotune.
I want to rip my lungs from my chest
And watch as it inflates
And deflates.
Inflate.
Deflate.
Like a useless balloon
A kid let go of some afternoon.
I want to rip my brain from my skull
And see why I have such a will
To forget everything that comes across.
Forget the moment my left ear hears it,
And the moment my right lets it leave once more.
