My Own Best Listener

No one will listen to me,
But that's okay,
I'll listen to myself instead,
To the endless words that fill my head.

I'll pour out my heart and soul,
And let my thoughts take control,
For only I can truly hear
My rants, the puddles, my fear.

No unsolicited advice,
No comments that aren't wished of,
Just the sound of my own voice,
And the freedom to make my choice
And rejoice.

I am my own competence,
My own specialized font of wisdom and clarity
In this world full of disparity.

So I'll embrace this solitude,
And make it my world,
For I know that only I alone
Can hear the softest whispers of my soul.
