Life's Perilous Morality

I don't want to lose my life
To something along the lines of a knife,
An endless strife,
A sight that no eye would have delight.

I don't want to die.
I don't want people to cry.
I don't want the implication of retaliation,
One that no investigation could rebut.

I don't want to die.
I don't want to go through!
You cannot make me see that dreadful, white view!

But alas,
Sometimes,
Life hates me.
And life hates you.
And life hates everyone,
Just like the shadows' perilous discord.
