As Time Slows Around Us [Poetry]

My World

In my world, there's only one thing that counts,
And that's what people think of me.
I don't care about the extent or the degree,
For their opinions are all that matter to I.

I seek their approval, their praise, and their love,
As if it's a gift sent down from Heaven itself.
Their validation is what makes me feel whole,
And without it, I'm left with an empty soul.

So I'll keep striving to be what they want,
Even if it means I'll be left feeling not.
For in my world, their opinions reign supreme,
And to their expectations, I'll strive to be seen.
