"So, how did you and Piper meet?" Jason asked as he and Leo were watching Piper pick out some clothes and putting them into her basket.

Leo sucked in a breath, furrowing his eyebrows.
"Uhm... We were classed as trouble kids." Leo said, looking at Jason.
"And... we were going to be this to this 'camp', supposed to help kids like us. Piper managed to get us out of it, snuck out and we then stayed in hiding until her dad found her and took us both in."

Jason blinked.
"You lived with Piper?" Jason questioned.
"For a few months. I found a new place though, it was shitty but it was cheap. I had a job that paid okay money." Leo answered.
"Now it's all good. I live in a better apartment and I'm doing this apprenticeship for this mechanic place!"

Leo smiled at Jason.
"How did you two meet?" Leo asked.
"We've been friends since she came to my high school for our senior year, at the start of our college year, we just started dating." Jason said.
Leo hummed, nodding.
"Cool." Leo said.

"Jason?"
Jason and Leo looked to Piper who seemed to have finished looking around for clothes.
"Mmh?" Jason smiled at Piper.
"Why don't you take Leo to that book shop you like so much? I'll be there once I pay for all of this!" Piper smiled at Jason.
"Oh, are you sure-?" Jason began.
"Yeah! Yeah, go on! I'll catch up!" Piper nodded.

Jason looked at Leo and Leo smiled.
"Lead the way." Leo said, gesturing for Jason to go ahead.
Jason smiled as he began to walk off, towards the exit of this store and Leo followed behind Jason.

Jason had a little stack of books in his hands as he kept looking around the bookshelves, searching for anything else he was interested in.
"You really like books that much, huh?" Leo questioned as he was following Jason about.

Jason felt his cheeks warm up and he looked at Leo.
"It's... fun, to read fiction and escape from reality." Jason shrugged.
Leo raised his eyebrows.
"Escape from reality, huh?" Leo smiled slightly.
"... It sounds stupid, I know-" Jason began.
"No, no... Uhm, it's definitely better than using drugs or something that could really damage you as an escape from reality." Leo said.

"Any recommendations?"
Jason blinked at Leo.
"W-Well, what genre do you like?" Jason asked.
Leo hummed to himself.
"I like fantasy a lot, sci-fi stuff." Leo said.
Jason hummed to himself and he held his stack of books towards Leo.

"Could you carry these for a few moments? I think I know what you may like." Jason said.
Leo gently took the stack of books from Jason.
"Sure, yeah!" Leo nodded.

As soon as Jason's hands were free, he instantly made his way to the sci-fi section of the books and Leo followed behind. Jason was reading through the titles and the authors names, looking for the book he thought Leo would like. Leo whistled quietly to himself as Jason searched for a book.

"Ah!" Jason exclaimed, picking out a book.
"Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury!"
Jason shown the book to Leo and smiled.
"I've read it twice, it's quite interesting."

Leo tilted his head at the book and he smiled.
"Awesome, maybe my English will get better if I read this." Leo said.
"Your English seems fine now anyway." Jason shrugged.
Leo blinked at Jason and his smile grew a little.
"Thanks." Leo tilted his head slightly at Jason.
Jason noticed how his comment seemed to bring up Leo's mood but he didn't understand how or why.

"Yeah, uh... let's go pay for the books! Hold on, let me take the stack from you-"
"Oh come on, it's fine, I'll carry it to the cashier."
"Are you sure?"
"I'm sure! Let's go Jase!"

*****

"Huh, you two seem cosy with each other already." Piper stated as she watched Leo and Jason walk out of the bookstore, smiling and talking to each other like they were good friends.
Jason looked at Piper and he smiled nervously.
"Well-" Jason began.

"How could I not love your boyfriend? He's awesome!" Leo grinned as he wrapped his arm around Jason's shoulder, bringing him down a little to his level.
Jason's face scrunched up and he smiled at Leo.
"You're not that bad yourself, Valdez." Jason said, nudging Leo in his side, causing Leo to laugh a little.

Piper smiled, happy to see both of her boys getting along.
"Well, I'm starting to get hungry! What do we say to getting something to eat?" Piper asked, walking off.
Jason and Leo followed alongside Piper, Leo's arm unwrapped from Jason and Jason now held Piper's hand with his spare hand as he held a bag of books in the other.
Leo had his own bag with his one singular book, but he swung it back and forth as they walked.

"Yes! Oh there's this good Mexican restaurant here!"
"You up for Mexican food, Jason?"
"I don't really mind."

And thus begun the greatest bromance in all of history.
