"I'm... I'm really sorry Jason."
Jason looked at Piper, a little surprised.
"You're... so, you're a lesbian-?" Jason began, a little confused.
Piper sighed out as she leaned back into the couch.
"I don't know what I am... all I know is that...well, I just like a girl right now. And, I love you Jason, I do! It's just... I think it's more platonic than romantic." Piper said softly.
"Do... do you understand what I mean?"

Jason blinked for a few moments, looking at Piper.
"... Yeah." Jason sighed out, running his fingers through his hair.
"I mean, Pipes, I don't care that you like girls, love whoever you wanna love, you know? I'm glad you told me this as well."
Jason rested his hand over Piper's and squeezed it gently.

Piper smiled at Jason.
"I... I also think that you may like... someone else too." Piper said.
Jason furrowed his eyebrows.
"What?" Jason smiled, tilting his head at Piper.
"I'm just saying, I've seen the way you and Leo act around each other." Piper shrugged.
"I mean... I think I've seen you looking at him with more love than you have ever looked at me with."

Jason's cheeks turned red and he began to laugh nervously.
"Haha! What? Piper, you're being ridiculous-!" Jason began, his voice cracking.
Piper took both of her hands and cupped Jason's face.
"As long as we stay best friends, that there are no hard feelings, I'm happy." Piper said, her voice soft and sweet.

"And Jason, go after Leo. He... he deserves you and your kindness, especially after all that he's been through."
Jason stared at Piper.
"Y-you don't care that... that he and I may...?" Jason tilted his head.
"Of course not. If everything goes well with Shel, then... hey, maybe we could go on double dates or something!" Piper exclaimed, still smiling at Jason.

Jason's eyes welled up and he gently rested his hands over Piper's wrists. Jason tilted his head and he kissed the palm of Piper's hand. Piper felt her own eyes well up and she gulped.

"You're the best person in the world, Pipes." Jason said softly, taking Piper's hands away from his face.
Piper bit her lower lip.
"... You know I think Leo's last lesson will end soon, if you start heading to his class maybe you can catch up to him and talk to him." Piper said.
Jason's eyes lit up, and Piper smiled at seeing Jason looking excited.
"Ah! Right! Okay, uhm..." Jason said, getting up from Piper's couch.

"I'll... Thank you, Piper. So sad that we broke up, but uhm... yeah, I think... I think it'll be good for us too."
Piper laughed.
"Haha! Go on, Jason... we can talk later on, okay?" Piper tilted her head at Jason.
Jason nodded and hummed, backing away.
"Yeah, I'll... I'll call you! See you!" Jason exclaimed.

Piper watched as Jason left and Piper sighed to herself. This break-up didn't put Piper in a lot of pain. Yes, she was sad. What she and Jason had was nice, but... Piper knew that there was nothing real between them. And Piper felt something more with Shel, a girl in her Native American and Indigenous Studies course. Piper also knew Jason would never have broken up with her to pursue his feelings for Leo, so she had to be the one to do it.

Piper picked up her phone and she looked at her reflection. Piper fiddled with her hair and she titled her head. Her nose scrunched up and she set her phone aside, getting up from the couch and making her way towards her bathroom.

Piper needed a new look.

Jason was waiting outside of Leo's classroom and he was just leaning against the wall, scrolling through some social media on his phone.

Jason turned off his phone as he saw a few students already exiting the classroom. Jason stuffed his phone away as he looked for Leo to step out. As soon as Leo stepped out, he seemed to be thrilled about something.
