Chapter 18

Leo had a ton of messages from Calypso as he was walking back home.
Leo turned his phone on silent and decided he would block her when he had a peaceful moment, but now he was just curious and excited about the surprise that Jason had waiting for him.

Leo entered the apartment and he shut the door behind him, locking it.
"I'm home!" Leo called.
"Living room!" Jason called back.
Leo quickly kicked his shoes off and made his way towards the living room.
"Alright, what did the great Jason Grace get for me-?" Leo began.

Leo froze as he saw a huge cage in the living room filled with stuff and a very specific animal that Leo has been wanting since he was a kid.

"Uhm, Reyna drove me to the pet store to get all the necessities and to get the bearded dragon for you and-" Jason began, smiling at Leo.
Leo went up to Jason and Jason was confused when he saw an emotion of anger in Leo's eyes.
"¡¿Estás demente?!" Leo scowled, tapping at Jason's forehead a little too roughly.

"You got all of this stuff today?! Jason, did you even get all of the things that he needs?! The things that are good for him and not things that'll kill him?!"
"Well-" Jason attempted to answer the questions.
"Do you know how much effort it'll take to take care of this guy?! I mean, Jason, sometimes I'm busy at my work and I won't be able to take care of him! You're gonna have to take care of him for me! This is a huge responsibility for both of us!!" Leo scolded.

Leo looked at Jason who seemed to just smile and look at him with an emotion Leo had never seen Calypso look at him with. Leo's breath hitched and he cupped Jason's face.
"You're absolutely insane." Leo whispered as he reached up while pulling Jason down.
Leo quickly pressed his lips against Jason's. Jason was definitely surprised but he smiled into the kiss, melting into it as he rested his hands on Leo's waist.

Leo's heart was going insane. Everything felt surreal. Jason bought him a bearded dragon. Jason had bought him an animal that he had always wanted. Leo was kissing Jason right now. And fuck, fuck, was kissing Jason absolutely wonderful.

Leo pulled away after a few more moments and Jason seemed to smile as he looked down at Leo.
"... Was that a spur of the moment kiss?" Jason asked, his voice quiet.
"Sort of. But I've wanted to kiss you for a while now so... don't think that this doesn't mean anything, Grace." Leo answered, his voice also quiet.

They held each others gazes for a few more moments longer and Leo backed away, looking at the cage and the bearded dragon in it.
"You're actually insane." Leo stated, staring at the animal which seemed wary of its new home.
"... What are you going to name him?" Jason asked, keeping his eyes on Leo.

Leo looked back at Jason and he smiled.
"I've always liked the name Festus for a dragon." Leo stated.
Jason raised his eyebrows and he nodded.
"Festus... I like it." Jason smiled.
Leo reached up and he pecked Jason's lips once more.

"I actually can't believe you. How much was all of this?"
"Don't worry about that. Just worry about how you're gonna have to get him to get used to you and bond with you."
"... I seriously hate you, oh my god..."
