Hadara summary:

Carnage travels to a city in France named Hadara. She is trackinng down missing people reports and ends up at the edge of town in downgrade neighbourhood, where she meets an old woman . She is the grandmother of one of the missing victims. A boy age 18 .
The woman tells her another boy is missing too , which in turn crosses one more name of Carnage's list of missing people.
The old woman is skeptical in talking to her when Carnage asks her about details of his disappearance .
Once the old woman talks Carnage figures out she is not a wizard at all but a loup garou . Distant relatives of werewolfs able to change at will, born not bitten. Packs of which still exist and rule on Amaru. However the woman and her ancestors decided to remain in the wizarding world . For generations however the ministry treated them as creatures not equals .
After the dark wars creatures like loup garous were granted territories within the wizarding world. So they can change and be who they truly are in peace.
The woman however says that over the past 10 years the ministry has shrinked and warded off their territories forcing them into hiding. She also tells her aurors came by her house and told her her grandson is dead providing no other explanation.
So the creatures improvised and built a werehouse far east , which they can use without the ministry knowledge. It's where the boys went to change and where they disappeared.
Upon leaving the woman begs to make a deal and offeres anything to Carnage for the safe return of her grandson and his cousin . Carnage declines the deal and says
" I can promise the return of your loved ones maam , but i will find them. What i can promise you is the truth alone. However if they are alive , i give you my word i will bring them back to you"

Carnage tracks down the old warehouse deep within the woods and next to a quarry. Amaru borders are too close to the place which she finds suspicious. When she arrives at the warehouse she finds signs of battle , spells casted by wizards , but no bodies.
She returns empty handed and heads to the library of Hadara, which was abandoned to disarray by the people of the city. Not important enough to upkeep.
Carnage begins an search for any maps displaying the old territory of the city so she can evaluate the old woman's words. She fails miserably and almost gives up, but then she finds Tom sitting in the very end.
Their encounter is reserved , vague in terms of conversation. Tom shares that he has been orphaned since he was a child with deep hatred for his father , who left him there and went on living.
Carnage shares her story of always being alone since her parents death. Constantly rotated between " boarding schools" while her guardians became less and less frequent.

While neck deep in research Carnage questions Tom's choice of books.
" Poetry books and manuals of poisonous potions"
Tom deflects her questions and asks her about her favorite poem. Carnage refuses to tell him. So Tom proposes a deal - he delivers what she is searching for and he gets to ask a question . Carnage agrees.
Tom brings her a map and books for her research.
On the map she finds the old borders marked with lines and realises the place the loup garous build is situated in " no mans land" . This is a violation of the border laws between Amaru and the wizarding world, caused by the ministry pushing loup garous out of their borders.
She can't tell Tom of course .
Tom questions her presence in Hadara but she lies her way out of it.
For his questions Tom chooses to ask about the poem again .

Carnage declines , but tells him anyway

"Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice."

The end up speaking about muggle poem authors and researching . Carnage starts getting sleepy at some point cause of her consistent inability to sleep and Tom notices playing into her failure.
He starts reading to her slowly and methodically , while she listens in silence. He makes a plan to use occulemancy on her while she is asleep, wishing to dig in her answers she is not providing.
Eventually she falls asleep listening to him reciting a poem he believes suits her.

"From childhood's hour I have not been
As others were -- I have not seen
As others saw -- I could not bring
My passions from a common spring --
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow -- I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone --
And all I lov'd -- I lov'd alone --
Then -- in my childhood -- in the dawn
Of a most stormy life -- was drawn
From ev'ry depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still --
From the torrent, or the fountain --
From the red cliff of the mountain --
From the sun that 'round me roll'd
In its autumn tint of gold --
From the lightning in the sky
As it pass'd me flying by --
From the thunder, and the storm --
And the cloud that took the form
(When the rest of Heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view --"

Once Tom is sure she is sound asleep he moves to her and casts Oculemency only to realise he failed , because Carnage's mind is surrounded by a mental barrier like black adamant. No way in her head.
Tom gives up and pulls away while thinking of other ways to get to her. Eventually he falls asleep in her presence too.
Carnage wakes up first , surprised by the turn of events and wakes up Tom. Who reacts poorly pushing her away.
So she leaves as soon as she realises she has a meeting to get to involving her mission.
She leaves Tom behind and ventures to another part of the city to meet with her contact.
When she gets there she meets a smuggler woman , who runs a shop.
Something about the woman however was not quite right and while they were having conversations the woman's image seemed to flicker in her eyes. Like an illusion.
So Carnage reacted by throwing a knife as soon as Cadavier's violet eyes shone through the illusion.
She asks him why the illusion and Cadavier tells her it was a test for her , because she could never afford to get too comfortable.

Cadavier asks on reports on her findings and confirms her suspicions of border tampering .
He speaks of a dark lord who has steadily climbed to power , leaving a trail of blood in his rule. A man who the ministry blames for the missing people. Carnage dismisses his warning , entirely unfased by the new personage.

" The dark lord , please spare me Cadavier , as if any of the people here , know anything of darkness"

However Cadavier does not trust the ministry and asks Carnage to find out the truth and she agrees. Then the hunt begins.
