(Context: bf/n = boy friend's friend's name, b/n = boyfriend's name.)
Imagine:
You are currently hanging out with your boyfriend (b/n) and you are having a movie night. He pauses the movie halfway through and leaves to grab some more food, but he leaves his phone next to you, face up on the couch. There you see his most recent text from his group chat with his best friends and it reads "b/n, when are you going to tell her?" You look at the text and wait til he comes back to ask him about it. He doesn't look you in eye and instead looks at the paused screen. He finally looks at you, as you repeat "b/n, tell me what that text from bf/n was talking about."
He takes a deep breath and gulps, then grabs your hands. He says "This relationship was supposed to last for a few weeks and we were supposed to be broken up by now. My friends bet me $300 that I could get you to fall for me in a matter of two weeks." You scream at him, while standing up from the spot that you were sitting in a few second prior: "Get out of here, b/n, I never want to see you ever again! I was nothing more than a bet to you! Thank you for wasting 2 years of my life all for $300. Did you even love me?" At this point he is standing up too and looking at you with pleading eyes. He tries to grab your hands "y/n, when I told you that I love you I meant it, honestly. I wanted to cancel the bet when I realized that I fell for you, the moment that I first saw you."
You look at him with a red face and say with the harshest tone you've ever used "But you didn't, which means that I'm not worth $300 to you. I mean it when I say get out and stay out of my life, this is goodbye b/n!" You grab his hands and lead him to the door and just say the word "Out" in a stern voice. Once he walks out your door, you close and lock it behind him.
You slide down the door and break down in tears. You start to question everything about your relationship and realize that you needed to talk to someone.
You go through your contacts and debate on calling your best friend. He was currently on tour across the world from you and you realized that it was currently 3am his time.
You decided to call him and figured that you would just leave him a voicemail, that he could return later.
You were surprised to hear his tired voice on the other end of the line.
The tiredness left his voice when he heard you about to cry and all it took was him asking "What happened?" break the seal on the tears that were forming in your eyes.
You told him everything that had just conspired in the past half an hour and that was all he needed to hear. He told you that he is going to get you tickets for the remainder of his tour and pay for your flight out to where he was playing that day and for everything else for the rest of it as well.
You tell him "Bailey, seriously, you don't have to do this, I'm fine really, just focus on your tour and I'll see you when you get back!"
He sternly says "Y/N, I know that I don't have to do this, but I don't want my best friend to be alone, while her heart is currently broken by a guy who doesn't even deserve to be in the same room as her and I am not there to give him a piece of my mind."
You stay silent because you are exhausted from crying and his words make you want to cry even harder because of how sweet they are.
He asks you if you have any plans tomorrow, because he booked you a flight that will be leaving at 9 am that day. You tell him no and that you are so sorry for bugging him with your breakup.
He just says "Y/N, you're not bugging me with this, I'd rather my best friend be happy right now instead of sad, when I can do something to try and make her feel better."
(Time skip, because I can, lol)
You are currently running to the gate that Bailey texted you to go to. You hear a voice tell your name and turn to see b/n running to you with bloodshot eyes. He is yelling "I'm sorry, please don't leave me, I love you y/n!" You ignore him and continue to your gate. Once you get to the gate, you are met with the crew that will be flying you to the next city where Bailey is. You smile at them and then board the private plane. You fall asleep and get woken up what felt like five minutes later, but turns out, it was really ten hours later. You wake up and grab your things before checking your phone to see a text from Bailey saying "Go to baggage claim for a surprise." You read the text and shake your head at your best friend's text, thinking that he is insane if he thinks that he can wait for me at baggage claim and not get noticed by people. Well imagine the look on your face when you get to baggage claim and see him holding a sign with your name on it. He had smiley faces and lighting bolts all over the sign and was wearing a goofy grin on his face. He had bags under his eyes, but they lit up when they saw you and he smiled really big, when he realized that you were walking towards him. He grabbed your arm and pulled you into a giant hug. You dropped your bags during this giant hug and Bailey grabbed them from your reach. He then used his free hand to hold yours to make it so you guys didn't get separated in the crowd of people. He leads you to a limo and puts your stuff in the trunk. He then opens the door for you and then climbs in next you. He tells the driver to take you guys to the hotel so you can drop your stuff off and check in. He tells you that you guys will be rooming together because of the lack of rooms at the hotels for the remainder of the tour. You don't mind because it's Bailey, who you've know for years and you know that he wouldn't hurt you or anything. You lean on his shoulder and end up falling asleep. He lightly kisses your forehead and says in a whisper that he didn't know you heard "I love you y/n and I have ever since that first day in the 5th grade, when you wore that Nickelback shirt and ripped jeans. I was about to get on the first flight back to you and give that ex of yours a piece of my mind that he would never forget. When you called me crying earlier, it broke my heart and I wanted to be there with you. I wish that I knew if you felt the same way about me, I want to be more than your best friend and have wanted this for so long."
You open one eye and say "Do you mean that, Bails?"
He looks shocked because he was convinced that you were asleep, but he quickly recovered and said "Every word I meant it. Do you feel the same way?"
You look at him and smile. You grab his face and lean in slowly. You kiss him softly and then pull away, while saying "Does that answer your question, Bails?"
He just smiles at you and says "Definitely, Darlin'."
He grabs your hand and says "Looks like we are at the hotel now, let me grab your bag and then I'll show you where our room is."
You guys get out of the limo and Bailey grabs your stuff and places the sign that he made for you on your head because he's Bailey and he wanted to goof around. You laugh and say "hey! What happens if the sign blows away?" Bailey just laughs and says "If that happens then I'll have to make a new one with tape attached to it and tape it to your forehead."
You laugh and say "Sure you will, I doubt that you would."
He walks over to you and stands in front of you. He bends down a little bit (pretend that he is a little taller than you or eye level I guess, lol) and says "You already know that I will do that, since you said that you doubted me."
You guys walk into the hotel and check in, you ask him "Why can't I just leave my bags on the bus? You and the band already have your stuff on there, what's two more bags?"
He looks at you and says "All of the band's and my stuff are already on their way here from the bus."
He sets the stuff down and says that you guys are gonna go the bus as soon as you are ready to leave the room.
You guys soon get back in the limo and sit close together for the entire ride.
You guys get to the bus and Marley is freaking out because she missed you. The band is in shock because they are staring at yours and Bailey's intertwined hands. They pat his back while saying, "Finally, he told you how he felt about you and you really do exist!!"
You laugh and say hi to them all, while smiling at Bailey. You pet Marley and laugh when she grabs her toy and walks it over to you. You take a seat and she follows you. After a few minutes Bailey walks over to you two and sits next to you, while putting an arm around you.
