Imagine:
You are a new intern at Warner. You get called into your boss's office and get told that part of your job is for you to fake date, one of their artists. You get a list of do's and don'ts for this whole thing and it's insane. The list tells you that can go anywhere with your fake date, but you have to stay with them the entire time. You cannot have a relationship outside of the fake one, because it will confuse fans and cause bad publicity for the artist. All of your outfits have to be appropriate and outings have to be public. You cannot argue or be rude to each other
in public. (I doubt that Warner would actually do any of this, just roll with it and the part about arguing in public, I meant that more in the sense of like you guys are throwing stuff or something like that just in a public setting as opposed to it happening in a private setting.)
You look at the list then at your boss, before saying "You're joking about this right? This list is ridiculous and the requirements are insane. I would never want this or sign up for this type of thing. Had I known this would be part of my job, I wouldn't have taken this offer in the first place."
Your boss is stunned by your outburst, but they remain firm that you can either take this opportunity and the pay raise that comes with it or leave.
You chose the raise and your fake boyfriend walks in as you are about to leave your boss's office. Your boss stops you in your tracks and says "y/n meet your new fake boyfriend, Bailey." You turn around and face him. You two say hi and shake hands. You then turn back to the door and leave. You get your stuff and leave your desk, ready for this day to be over. As you head to the elevator, you feel someone staring at you, but you shake it off and walk into the elevator. You see a figure move into the elevator after you and stand on the opposite side of the elevator from you. You turn to them and say "Can I help you?"
They say "Yeah you can, I need to get to know you, if this is going to look real to the fans."
You quickly realize that it was Bailey and say "Right, sorry for my attitude, I thought that you were a random person who was stalking me or something. How about we go to Applebees and get some food, we can talk this whole thing out there, it'll be my treat."
He laughs at the stalker comment and insists on it being his treat. You both laugh and agree with your suggestion on how whoever gets the bill from the server pays. You both seal it with a handshake, before Bailey offers to give you a ride there, but you insist on driving yourself and he says "Alright, I'll meet you there then, see you in about five minutes."
When you get to the restaurant, Bailey is waiting for you in the parking lot and opens your door for you. He opens the door to the restaurant for you and waits till you guys have ordered your food and drinks, before he starts talking about the whole fake dating situation. He tells you that he just wants this to be natural and not forced, because if it's forced then it will be a pain for both of you. You agree with him and say that the rules are crazy that you guys have to follow. He looks at you confused and says "What rules?" You say "The sheet that has the Do's and Don'ts, my boss showed it to me before you walked in." He thinks for a few seconds and says "Oh yeah, that sheet, I don't think it's that bad. It's basically a regular relationship just add in fans, publicity, and paparazzi." You nod your head yes in agreement as your food gets placed in front of you and you guys eat in comfortable silence. You both exchange numbers before you leave the restaurant. Bailey ended up paying for the meal and you thanked him for it. He said "You don't need to thank me for that, I already told you that it was on me to begin with and it was kinda a trail run for our new relationship, anyway." You just sigh and say "Don't forget this is going to be a fake relationship, not a real one." He doesn't reply back and just walks back to his truck, before waiting for you to get in your car and drive away.
