"Good afternoon, class. Today we're going to be talking about respiration, or energy. Can anyone tell me which foods in which we could get energy?"
No one raised a hand.
Except for Molly, of course. She's the best at biology in Grade 8. Or probably even if middle school. She got straight A's without even studying!! Like, AH!
"Erm...carbohydrates?"
"Right. There is one more."
"And fats, too. And maybe protein if there's a lack of both.." she added.
And after what Molly said, I heard myself dozing off!!!
Don't blame me! My English teacher, Miss Clarke, gave ME 4 whole essays to write, and I stayed writing them until 5 AM.
So I slept for only 2 hours and a half!!
But to be honest with you, this sleep was probably was the BEST sleep ever, and the thing is, I'm at the back of the class, so I knew Mr. Smith (also known as the biology teacher) would never suspect a thing. So I was all good.
"Hello? Sierra?"
I heard a familiar voice, but I still couldn't make out who it was, since I still was 3/4 asleep.
I also wasn't wearing my glasses, so I still couldn't see a thing. Everything was really, really blurry. Unfortunately though, I had to interrupt my sleep putting my glasses back on again.
And yes, it was Lee, Molly, and Lily. RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY FACE!!
Like, do I give you covid so you could maybe social distance yourself and give me privacy if you may??
"Sierra are you ok?" Lee asked.
"Yes, yes...just where are my glasses?"
Lee handed them over to me, and I slowly put them back on.
"This is the first time you nap like that. Did something happen?" Molly asked, nervously.
"I'll tell you everything later." I said, wishing they would just leave me alone.
"Thank goodness Mr. Smith didn't realize, he would've turned into a wild beast!" Lily exclaimed. I just nodded. I still didn't really have the energy, and I also really wanted them to just leave me be and wake up in peace. I still didn't really imagine how humiliating it might be now that the class knew a student dozed off in class.
"Can you just give me five seconds to.." I told them.
"Okay, let's leave her be." Lee said. And they left.
