Lilium had just returned to Hollow Bastion after her intervention in the Land of the Dragons. She was walking at a fast pace towards her dedicated space, and while her mask kept her face hidden for the various henchmen of Mizrabel, her body language and the fact that she held her head a bit down showed something was not right. Before she could enter her private zone again, she was intercepted by another major member of their armada, who needed to talk to her. This individual had spiky black hair that reached their neck, eyes with pupils that were completely black, and a futuristic armor, whose back consisted of metal wings and some rockets.
"Miss Lilium, I needed to inform you about… Oh, my apologies. Did I come at the wrong time?", they said.
"Cosworth… If you don’t have important news, don’t waste my time. Or yours, for that matter.”
“I… Actually do. We’ve lost control of the Land of the Dragon.”
After hearing those news, she remained silent for a few seconds, until she told them:
“Go now. Madame Mizrabel is not going to like this, and I might be getting the same thing that happened to Cecil. Please, don’t get yourself in the middle of this. They’ll make you regret it.”
Cosworth could not leave her alone, but seeing Mortimer get close to them, they put their soul at peace and after waving hands with the masked girl, they went their own way. That meant, it was just her and the rodent. He forced grip on her wrist and brought her to the main court where Mizrabel was located, saying:
“You’re well aware that she's not going to be happy about this, aren't ya?”.
She said nothing in response, just walking up the same pace as the rat so he didn't need to pull her forward. Whatever was going to happen, she had accepted it.
Once the masked girl saw the empress, she could see her face being more serious than usual, and was staying completely silent.
Lilium tried to explain what happened, but as a response, various parts of her body were subjected to electric shocks.
Overcome by the pain, she released a grating scream of pain, and once it stopped, she was kneeling, so as to not make the empress any more angry.
Once she had submitted once again, the ruler finally started talking.
"The blinding light that's remained in your heart has stopped you dead in your tracks far too many times than I can consider acceptable. Do you think we should dispose of it, Kairi?", she said.
"There's… No need for that, your highness. You helped me understand the pain those wretched Wielders made me feel, and next time, I'll make them feel all my anger, all my despair, and all my hatred."
"It is best you stand by what you've just said, unless you want to reach Cecil in wherever he's ended up."
"That will not happen. Not for as long as my heart is enriched by the truth of the dark."Back at the Wielders' home, the atmosphere was much warmer. Now that they were all in a safe place once again, Axel could do a more proper reconciliation with his friends, and especially Xion, given she was the last one who saw him before he went his way.
She hugged the red-haired boy, and told him in a sad smile: "Don't run away ever again. Can you promise me that?"
"I promise. I'm really sorry I left you all… I was too afraid of what happened to Kairi because I did not get her ready for this…"
"You did everything you could. Which is a lot more than I can say for a certain someone… But I've known Kairi long enough that she can still see the light in you no matter what. So when we find her, I trust she'll forgive you.", replied Riku, putting a hand on his shoulder.
"Heh. I'm surprised I'm getting all these apologies accepted. Had this happened with someone who wasn't any of you, they would've shut doors with me for as long as I existed.", replied Axel. Some time later, the group started to plan out the next world they were going to free from Mizrabel's control, and luckily, not many were remaining. They were getting closer and closer to reach the domain of the Empress, and liberating Insignia from her control, so the stakes were rather high. They did decide to go for Agrabah, as it was the nearest from their base, and it had come up that the darkness radiating from it was very strong, just a little above the one they felt when facing Cecil or Lilium.
"If they managed to get the Genie of all people under their control, this could be a problem. I'd be impressed if they were able to fully take control of someone with immense power as him, but who knows how much he'd be able to control them when at their mercy…", said Roxas.
"It could be worth considering… if he held back when things were normal, now he might use all of his powers. And given that he existed even before the start of the fables, who knows how truly powerful he is. But that doesn't mean we can't get his senses back if we all break our limits.", replied Riku. Everyone got up, and they began the journey towards Agrabah.
