"Bye mom, bye Milo! I'm heading off, I'll be back for winter break!" Jake hollered from the front door. His mother and Milo came out and hugged him goodbye.
"Bye dear, make sure to check in okay?" She said fixing his hair. Normally he would be annoyed with her but he let it slide today.
"Bye big bro." Milo said acting like he didn't really care before leaving to his room after the hug. This caused him to smile, he knew deep down that Milo would miss him. Soon he left for the train station.

"Hey Jake!" Luke waved over to him as he approached. Him and Luke had grown rather close as they both had been selected into the luminescence division together their first term.
Jake smiled at him, "Hey Luke." The two greeted each other with a hug before boarding the train going into their booth just as the train started up.
Jake and Luke spent a majority of the time catching up. "So how I was your summer?"
"Really nice, I got to spend it with my family and visit Rose Valley for a month." Jake smiled at the thought. Luke began to say,
"My summer was really boring, but I'm happy we're going back to the Academy now! I can't wait to see everyone!"
Jake hesitantly nodded, he wasn't exactly eager to go back. More of dreading it, last year he had gotten rejected by a girl named Daisy. She was in the Anemos division, even though they decided to still be friends, Jake couldn't help but feel a little sad.
"Hi guys!" A voice chirped, the two turned their heads just to see a short girl with fuchsia hair.
"Good to see you Milly!" Jake grinned at her as she entered their booth. She was a second term student in the Pyromancy or Pyro division.
"So excited to see your Faunas again? And maybe the love of your lives?" Milly smirked to the two.
"Yeah I miss Celeste, but love of my life?" Jake crooked his head. The group all knew that Daisy had rejected him so he was very confused.
Milly rolled her eyes, "I'm not talking about Daisy for your information."
Jake being the clueless idiot pondered as Luke spoke, "Mhm I did wonder how my little owl was doing. I do also miss Zander." Him and Zander had started dating last year as Milly accidentally blabbered it in front of everyone.
"Oh that's nice Luke, I can't wait to see all our friends and Astrid. I wonder how they've been caring for them." Milly smiled just as someone else opened the door to their booth.
"Hey." Zander muttered and Hailey just smiled. The two step siblings were tackled into a hug.
"Gah! We missed you guys!" Milly squealed as they pulled apart.
Hailey just let out a small laugh as Zander went to go sit with Luke. She was in the Hydromancy(Hydro) while Zander was in the Twilight division. Jake came and sat with her, the two met during their first term and quickly became the best of friends.
"So, you ready?" She asked fidgeting with her hair.
He shook his head and leaned into her hair, smelling the faint scent of roses. "Not really, it's going to be awkward between me and her."
Sean entered soon, a fourth term student in the Anemos division. He was greeted by the same welcome that the siblings had received. "You guys ready to get back to the school?"
"Kinda, but only to hang out with you guys." Milly smiled as Sean sat beside her.
"Does anyone know where we go to pick up our Faunas and find our dorm rooms?" Luke asked starting up a conversation. Hailey nodded in response.
