Detective Burns and Officer Lankey were currently at Ty Lu's old mansion that was burnt down. They also had fire investigators and forensic scientists with them to try to back track any evidence leading up to a possible staged fire.

What really had Kasen confused about this whole assignment was that there wasn't any documentation on this fire. Almost as if it wasn't originally investigated, which was very odd, especially because this should have been a huge deal being this is the Secretary of the United States.

"Burns, how long will we be? Kayior asked me to help her with something and I really need to make sure I do help her so Chief could recognize me."
Lankey stated, following behind Kasen who was stepping on top of burnt up pieces of wood.

"Help with what?" Kasen questioned heading towards the back of the home.

"Uhh-

not sure if she wants me to share."

"Well you being here with me gonna be a better way getting his attention." Kasen assured him. He felt like this assignment was going to be for the books.

"Soo, how exactly will we find anything when all of the evidence is basically burnt up?" Lankey questioned as he took a full glance around the home.

"About to show you right now kid." Kasen stopped at the entrance of the back patio.

"So if you take a good look around, the downstairs is full of what seemed to come from upstairs." Kasen trailed, looking upwards at the sky, then pointing at the wood pieces surrounding them.

"Follow me." He went on, now walking back towards what used to be the front door.

There was a trail of broken tiles leading up to where the stairs were.

"The fire had to start here. All the way up the steps-."

"How do you know that?" Lankey asked, very confused.

"Because the broken tiles lead up towards the stairs, while those-" Kasen pointed to the square tiles that were still in place but just damaged- "are still intact, meaning someone had to pour maybe gasoline. But they will test that." Kasen stated, referring to the forensic scientists.

"It took a while before firefighters could get here. I could tell because it spread quite bigger than it should have been. Come." Kasen continued to step outside and around the home to where the circuit breakers were at.

Opening the box, "Looks like these were manually switched off. Gives another clue of this fire being staged."

"Yeah but we literally don't have any suspects to even test fingerprints." Lankey stated, just unhopeful.

Kasen gestured one of the forensic scientists to head over by swaying his hands, now focusing his attention on Lankey.

"Kid, if you want that rank, you got to trust me and pay attention." Detective Burns stated sternly. He just knew what he was doing and he felt like Lankey was underestimating him.

Though the inside of the home was all destroyed from the fire, Kasen peeped what seemed to be a guest home and a shed in the distance that was perfectly secured.

Doesn't look like it been touched at all with fire.

How the fuck?

As the two were walking towards the mini guest home, Kasen adjusted his gloves opening the front door which was already unlocked.

A wave of heat smacked their faces as it was trapped inside from the weather and no A/C for the past few years.

There was a nice white plush couch sitting in front of a 42 inch flat screen TV that was clinged onto the wall.

"Look around. If you find anything we could use as evidence grab it." Kasen ordered, dancing his eyes around the place.

"What are you going to do?"

"About to go look in that shed." He shrugged, heading out.

Lankey just nodded to get to work. Burns went on towards the shed, stopping at the door. There were chains wrapped along the handles, also a lock attached to it.

"I'm just tryna figure out, how in the fuck nobody checked this out." Kasen said to himself as he tried yanking the chains off.

"Bruhhh." He went on, now frustrated, letting go of the chains and feeling the tingle in his hands.

Kasen wiped the sweat from his forehead, dancing his eyes around the shed before peeping a paper underneath the crease of the door. After bending over to grab the paper, he realized it was from a newspaper.

The paper was all wrinkled up and stained, he could barely see being the ink was very much faded out.

As he squinted his eyes trying his best to see it through, "Family. Mas-. One. Missing?" He didn't think too much of it but he also felt it may help, so he placed the paper inside of an evidence bag.

"Burns!!" Lankey shouted from the guest home.

"Yoo." Kasen stated as he jogged on over.

"This place is empty, the only thing I'm finding is all of these photos." Lankey stated, pointing at the lined up photo frames he had onto the couch.

Detective Burns walked fully inside of the home, tilting his head to the side as he focused on the photographs, making his way to grab a frame.

"She looks familiar..." Kasen trailed, biting his lip down at an off guard picture of 13 year old Yaria cutting a piece of clay.

"Unit 31, do you copy?" A voice from Officer Lankey's radio buzzed.

"Unit 31 copy that." Lankey answered.

"As Chief Mason ordered, all officers are heading to the station."

"Copy that." Was all Lankey said, unhinged with Mason's command.

"Put all of those up, we are bringing that as evidence." Kasen pointed as he continued to stare at Yaria cutting a piece of clay.

I know this girl.

Though Kasen couldn't remember how he could recognize her, he just knew for sure he knew her, so he was going to make it a priority to find out.
