We couldn't find her at the pub or even in the book shop. I began to get worried, as the barman said she was going into the forest. We searched the forest in two groups, Elias and Chise in one, Ruth and I the other. I found my back and my dried up blood on the tree, but no sign of my camera or my phone. I assumed that some creatures took it; Ruth informed me that fairies aren't interested in human inventions. There were no footprints that went this way and nowhere else. We were about to give up; as a figure come towards us... it was my friend. "There you are! I was worried, where were yo..." "Stop N/A" interrupted Ruth, blocking my way. "What is it?" "This isn't your friend..." he said, barking at her "...show yourself!"
"You are a fast one eh? Good dog" said my friend, although, it's not like her to talk like that. Ruth gritted his teeth "Cartaphilus!" "In the flesh...well...almost" he said, moving into his original form, a little boy with white hair, with something attached to his shoulder. "Say hello to your friend" he said, revealing my friend, stitched to his shoulder by her torso. I could have puked at the sight, it was horrible and disgusting. "See, I told you I could get her back for you" Cartaphilus said to my friend, who mumbled in response. "How could you?!" I yelled, as he laughed at me "How could I? The right question would be: How could your friend ask me for help?" I froze at his words; did she really ask him for help? "Liar!!!" I screamed. "It doesn't matter anymore, I kept my promise and now, it's your turn" he charged at me....
....only to get scratched and pushed back, by thorns.
"You took your time, Pilium Murale"said the boy, backing away. Elias attacked him in an unknown form to me, he was huge. Elias went around him, till he ripped my friend off his shoulder. I screamed in horror, as her torso was lying on the floor...lifeless. Chise came to me, helping me up, while Elias and Ruth fought the boy. "A monster protecting a little human...how adorable. Do you think they can help you be less of a monstrosity?" he laughed at the thought, till he was cut short.
A revolver was placed on the back of his head "You never learn, to you boy?" said the one holding the weapon, before pulling the trigger.
BANG!!!!!! Cartaphilus feel head first on to the floor, bleeding badly. "We take it from here, take your students and get lost!" said the man towards, Elias. He nodded in return, carrying me and Chise back home while Ruth followed us in silence. The man inspected the boy, as another figure appeared behind him. "Did he strike again?" asked the girl behind him. "Yes Alice, a young woman... an innocent human being" he said, contain his anger, before facing her "Inform the college, we have a lot of work...what?!" He faces the area where the boy was lying, only to see an empty spot...he was gone.
At Elias home:
Elias kept me in his arms, as I sat on his lab in the living room. Silky made me warm milk with honey, trying to cheer me up. But whatever they done, it couldn't get my friend back. I cried and screamed in his arms, he told me tight, till my exhaustion forced me to sleep. He carried me into his bed and kept an arm around me, holding me close. He doesn't know much about human emotions, but losing something is something even he understands. He moved his head next to her head rubbing hers, giving her the assurance that he is there to keep her save.
