Michael sat down at the table with a smile, looking over to the radio demon

"Alastor! My soon to be brother, how are you doing today"

"Very well my good man, very well indeed" Alastor laughed, his grin getting wider.

"So then. Marrying my sister? How do you feel about that" Michael was testing him, trying to read his soul. Y/n was much more powerful in hell compared to him. In return, he was much more powerful on earth compared to y/n. They had some shared abilities but michaels strength came more from humans than demons. Doesn't mean he couldn't read a previous human like a book.

"Ah yes. Y/n and I. She is a lovely woman indeed. At first it was more of a business transaction to get her father off her back. She felt I was best suited for her and her future plans."

"Future plans?"

"Y/n doesn't think I know but she is not as sadistic as she comes off. She is a little out there, that's for sure but just like me, she holds a mask. She intends on essentially handing the kingdom over to me. Allowing me full control so she can enjoy her time being herself." He grinned "I don't think it's a bad thing really. Ha ha"

Michael seemed a little more intrigued by the man but he was starting to feel Alastors feelings weren't as true as y/n thought.

"Do you really enjoy my sister? Actually take interest in her or are you more interested in the power she holds" Michael glared.

Alastor seemed surprised. He has never really thought about it.

"At first, Michael, I cared more about the title. However, I do find y/n remarkable. Her ability to understand low souls like myself has really touched my heart. It seems I have gained more emotion towards her than I originally intended. If you're worried about it, I never plan to hurt my future wife." Alastor hummed.

"That's all I really need to hear." Michael smiled "I like you Alastor. You sadistic fuck. I don't care whether or not your emotions are true but I care if my sister gets harmed in any of your future plans. I haven't met a lot like you but I can see right through you"

Alastors shadows in the background seemed a little shocked.

"You must've experienced a pain that messed with your brain. Your past doesn't show you killed animals like most serial killers. You never seemed interested in hurting those weaker than you. I remember you from the 20s" Michael leaned it "you killed off those you felt that tried to use their title to do some shitty things. I can say, I'm impressed with your work. I noticed in your memories you don't seem to be as active as you were when you first entered hell. Did you just want to be memorable and ensure your own protection? That typically stems from souls that weren't treated like in their human life"

"Ah y/n was right about you. You can really read a person" Alastor leaned back, impressed with the whole family.

Alastor put a lot of puzzles together. Y/n and Michael were smart. They were born weak but grew strength within each other. They knew physically, they weren't capable of beating their siblings. With their minds though, they were able to outsmart them.

When Alastor witnessed y/n training, he noticed that she normally keeps her distance. She uses her magic strategically in order to win a battle without being touched. However her physical fighting style is more defensive. She can subdue someone but doesn't have the capacity to kill someone with her bare hands.

She got into mechanics and robotics from the books she read. Her main goal was to create her own friends, never to use them for battle.

He could tell Michael was cunning and smart. His strength came from more physical work than keeping his distance. It's the difference between them. He doesn't use his magic to fight. He uses it to his own personal gain. Alastor wondered if maybe it had to do with how they were trained.

"If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I've lived long enough that holding secrets are boring" Michael leaned back, taking a sip of some water.

"Can you tell me more about your family's ritual?" Alastor placed his hands on his chin. Very curious.

That made Michaels eye twitch. He hated talking about his family's traditions. Mainly because he didn't agree with them. No one should be born just to die.

"I see. It's an old family tradition that started when my family was spawned into hell. They felt it showed just how ruthless wrath could be. Using children as pawns to ignite fear into its citizens. The whole point is competition. Always about brute strength. In wrath, physical power is much more important compared to intellect. That's where wrath fails." Michael continued on explaining more in detail about the importance of Rage in the wrath family. "It's always said every other kid provides that anger wrath looks for. Y/n and myself, were much more cool headed compared to our father."

"Why is y/n so afraid of her father? It's the only time I see fear in her eyes"

"We both are scared of him. Y/n and I both know we aren't as physically strong as our father. The things he did to us since we've been born is nothing compared to the awful things humans have to deal with. It's no fun to be born into a family that just believes you're going to die and your soul be trapped in the forest" he didn't go hard into detail about some of the things their father has done to them.

Alastor noticed it was a touchy subject for Michael as well. He would love to continue to dig deeper but didn't want to be on her brothers bad side. He needs to ensure the deck in his hand is strong to win.

"Can you tell me something Alastor" Michael took a bite of his steak that came out "what is with the ring you gave y/n. I notice it glows whenever you're around. Or when you speak to her. Sometimes even when you're gone"

"Helps me read her emotions better" Alastor smile became less toothy "as you know, I've been hell for quite sometime. It's not a shock that my ability to understand emotions other than fear and sadness, is hard for me grasp. That ring I had specially made, is to let me know that she does care about me. Could even say she loves me to some extent. As I told you, my friend, I have no intention on hurting your sister or breaking her. I'm simply here to be the help she needs and be by her side"

Michaels smile softened. He realized that in this entire conversation, Alastor never once lied to him. Never once deceived him. Y/n, she knows how to pick them. Alastor was a psychopath, no doubt, but he does have a heart to some extent. Even if it's a small one. He discovered one thing about alastor. A childhood trauma wound that even bled into his life as a demon.

"If you're wondering what I'm thinking about your family traditions" Alastor had finished his venison "I believe I wouldn't mind messing around with it." His grin became sinister "I also am a believer that good people should not die in vain"

"Then I guess we've come to an agreement then" Michael smiled. He knew their meal would be free but he still left a nice tip for the waitstaff.

Alastor and Michael had walked out together.

"Can you tell me why the Vees hate you so much? I know you're feared by most in pride but why do they hate you" Michael stared ahead while walking

"Ah that's a story for another time" Alastor turned to face him then looked at his pocket watch "I believe you must be going now"

"Annoyed by me already?" Michale grinned

"Oh heavens no. I'm just aware of how my fiancé is about time and I would assume her family is the same"

Michael shook his hand "not bad kid. Listen Alastor" he gave him a sincere look "you're not alone you know." Michael disappeared before Alastor could answer.

How did he know that? Alastor thought. Alastor grew up an outcast. Lived life as one too. That was until he became popular as a radio host. When he came into hell, everyone pushed him aside until he became powerful. Alastor always felt alone. He felt no one in his life other than his mother, genuinely cared about him.

Maybe that was about to change for the better.
