ACT 2 CHAP 2

Sat in Dr gauls office the three of us are sat in silence before snow decides to break the awkwardness

"what happened? is it lucy gray?" he asks

"Unless you can put a leash on your deluded classmate, she might aswell be dead as far as I'm concerned."

Dr gaul flips her laptop towards us as sejanus shows on the screen..I raise an eyebrow, how on earth did he get into the arena?

"breadcrumbs." she says "I believe sustenance will fall and comrade on his final journey to district 2 superstition." she snarls

"I work on finding the peacekeeper he bribed to get him in and cut out their tongue." she takes a deep breath

"And in the mean time. I need someone to get him out right. now." she finished

"shouldn't you just send in peacekeepers?" I ask

"only to have him bolt and his like a rabbit?" she stares into me "Felix Ravinstill is fighting for his life in the hospital Miss. Vella" she shouts

"I will NOT have these rebels make a further mockery of my GAMES!" she slams onto my desk as I flinch, almost jumping out my seat

I nod but she continues "Anyone sees us lose control of this arena—and might as well sounding a hole into the districts to REVOLT!" she shouts in my face

I hold in my emotion, trying to keep my face as blank as possible though the heat passing through my veins made me want to slap the woman right there.

"You choose to be friends with this radical—"

"He's NOT a radical." I cut her off

She kisses her teeth "You want him to end the games tonight?" she asks as I shake my head, though I did hope to end the games

"But wouldn't it be a lot worse if the tributes kill the two of us?" Coriolanus asks

"So don't let them." Dr gaul replies

"Who knows..you get him out unscathed I'll whisper your name in his fathers ear" she smirks tilting her head "you still want that plinth prize—don't you?" she asks

I scoff "Coriolanus, come on now—your not really going to go into the arena are you? that's so dangerous! you could get killed! Plus she's clearly trying to manipulate you somehow!" I say to him but he looks away

"seriously coriolanus? you'd go into that arena, get him out—not to keep him safe but for his fathers money? get your priorities straight!" I say

"MISS VELLA." she shouts "How about you partake in this...excursion." she tilts her head

"along side mister snow here." she asks

"no way in hell."

"Miss vella, I don't believe you have a choice.." she says

"Of course I have a choice, I am NOT going." I shout back

"Aurelia, are you fond of the idea of your parents receiving your report card to be greeted with a big 'F' all over? because if you do not comply—I will. Be taking that action." she threatens

I lick my teeth before standing up "your disgusting" i mutter under my breathe as she smiles

"Darling, I've been called much worse." The nickname sent shivers down my spine

"Anyways, I'll cut the feed for an hour..I estimate that's all the time we have before people notice." she says

I kick my chair lightly tucking it into my seat as me and coriolanus walk towards the limo taking us to the arena

-10 minutes later-

"This is ridiculous" I say "Cant believe you would comply with that—" I pause

Coriolanus stops as he turns to me and tilts his head towards the right slight "with that what?" he asks

The blood in me boiled when I think about how much power that woman has over me, I just couldn't find the word on how I felt about her, I couldn't find a word which would be considered 'clean' .

"with that..with that stupid bitch!" I say as Coriolanus starts to laugh at my curse and I frown

"what!" I ask

"nothing, just never heard you curse before..seemed to 'prissy' for that" he admits

I feel a bit offended "what! I am not prissy! In fact i'm very nice! am I prissy?" I start to question myself

"we're here." the man driving the car stops as me and coriolanus start to walk into the arena

The scent of blood fills my nostrils as I grimace and I tap coriolanus on the shoulder

"is this even safe?" I ask

"not sure." he says

"your just in it for the prize. you scum" I insult him but he doesn't seem too dazed

As we walk closer the the barriers they lift up, seems like Dr gaul already informed us about coming to the arena.

As we walk closer and closer to the middle I feel the temperature get colder and quieter..felt quite eerie

"ew it stinks." coriolanus says as I smack him on the arm

"we're in the hunger games arena, of course it doesn't smell good..dumbass." I say but he seems amused

"your language has significantly worsened since you met that lumberjack of yours..are you in love with him?" he asks as I stay silent

Pursing my lips I let out a sigh as the two of us see sejanus "nothing is going on between us." I say

I jog up to sejanus followed by coriolanus, I tap sejanus who was huddled over marcus on the shoulder as his face, filled with tear marks stares up at me

"I thought they'd send my ma.." he cries

"yeah, I wish they did" coriolanus says as I place a hard smack on his back

"come on, we need to go" I say but he doesn't budge

"no! I cant. I need to stop these games..I can make a difference" he says

"And you can do that!" I reassure him "but you cant in this arena, you think Dr gaul will show this? she'll just cut the feed out.." I reason with him

"You can make a difference Sejanus but not here..not in these circumstances" I say as he nods standing up sniffling

We start walking towards the exit as I hear a blood curdling scream, The three of us turn around to see the boy from eight, who was missing an arm chase us down, I panic as we all start to run away

I grab Sejanus' arm as we make a run for it, I here the scream stop so I stop aswell turning around, the scene horrified me

Coriolanus, bloodied sword in hand and a young boy laying at his feet..my hand shoots up to my face as I stare in shock

"Coriolanus..your just as insane as her." I mumble as his mouth is still wide agape

His arm start to drop as the sword clashes onto the floor, a loud bang echoing

I quickly turn to my right as I see four people start to run towards us, I gulp grabbing sejanus again as the three of us run this time as I feel the four people, who I recognise as the pack start to come closer and closer towards us

"OPEN THE GATE" coriolanus shouts and just in time we make it through, the gate closing clashing with the sound of corals trident bashing against it

"You got away now pretty boy..but your songbird is the next one on my list." she snarls as I gulp

I feel the pack stare at us..and I feel one pair of eyes stare daggers into me though when I see the little boy from four he smiles as I do the same returning the same happy smile

"you doing alright?" I mouth to him not wanting to make any noise

He nods as I smile again, I was about to walk away again to go back to the academy hall but I feel a tug on my blazer...
