"no—please you don't understand" he continues

"Treech. please stop trying to explain..I understand what you want, I'm not going to be salty and leave you dead in that arena. I will manage to get your out of there. To go home to your family" I say before turning and staring at my jacket and realising it belonged to treech

I take it off me as I fold it and turn back round handing it towards the boy

"here, your jacket..didn't get to return it to you earlier" I say

"no-no please keep it.." he stumbles on his words as I shake my head

"Treech, please take it back" I say trying to avoid eye contact

He takes it bad slowly as I give a weak smile, "I'll see you tomorrow morning for breakfast unless you don't wa-"

he cuts me off "no-no! please come" he pleads as I nod

"and then you have to go..you know" I say, my voice cracking and this time he nods but his gaze moves from my face towards my left hand

"what's that?" he asks grabbing my hand

I quickly pull back, not sure if I should tell him about my new found marriage proposal

"presidents son..my mother would never give up on an offer like that.." I say sadly as his eyes soften

"oh..so your getting married?" he asks as I nod

"guess so..unless I run away" I joke trying to lighten up the mood but he doesn't find it too funny

"anyways..goodbye treech" I say sadly

"bye lia.." he waved goodbye, as I halt at the nickname

"It's Aurelia." I say sternly before quickly walking away, tears running down my face

"you fucked up man.." I hear someone say but I just wanted to go home and lay there for the rest of my life

I open the car door as I sat in the passenger side, in tears

"oh baby, what happened" vhera embraces me into a hug

I sniffle "he, said it's just a ploy..he never really liked me.." i sob in her arms

"wouldn't blame him.." i hiccup "he's just trying to survive..but I really liked him" tears continued pouring down my face as I took a breath trying to calm myself down

"did you let him explain?" she asked as I shook my head no "I just want to be alone..take me home" she nods as she drives me back home in silence but it wasn't awkward..more of a comforting silence

As we drive by an apartment complex I tap vhera on the arm "can you drop me off here? my..friend lives here and I need to talk to him about something" I say, I wasn't too sure to call coriolanus a friend or not

"alright..dont stay out too long" she says as I nod and go into the complex

I walk towards the elevator and press number 12, walking towards the door I knock before waiting for the door to open

The door finally opens to reveal tigris! aww i love her, she's the absolute sweetest person ever, i'm not sure how anyone could ever hate her

"tigris!"

"elia!" she embraces me in a hug, usually people call me lia but she calls me elia..says it sound better

"come in come in!" she turns to the side for me to walk through

"you need to talk to coriolanus?" she asks as I nod before she walks into a room calling for him

"aurelia.." he says smiling

"coriolanus."

we both sit on their table as tigris brings us some cookies as I smile at her, I look around before I realise she's probably given me cookies just so coriolanus wouldn't be embarrassed, it's customary in the capitol to give people food when they come over but as I came unexpectedly I felt bad about their situation

"oh and tigris, I forgot, remember when you designed my dress for that ball we had a few weeks ago?" I ask as she nods

"completely forgot to pay you!" I say as I hand her $3000 dollars

"no, no, no elia this is way too much! I said it was a complimentary design!" she says pushing the money back as I shake my head putting the money straight into her hands "keep it! the dress was gorgeous!" I say as she smiles happily walking to her room

"so what did you need to talk to me about?" he asks

"lucy gray, the compact?" I ask

he kisses his teeth as he says "what about the compact?"

"are you cheating somehow?"

he rolls his eyes "oh come on lia" I raise an eyebrow

"District 7's better than 12."

I roll my eyes "what has that got to do with anything?"

"it's that your lover boy-"

"don't." i interrupt him

"treech. has a higher chance of winning this thing but I need lucy gray out of there!"

"and you think I don't want to get treech out either?" I ask

"yes. but he has a higher chance that she will ever have." he says

"what did you give her?" I say

"and why should I tell you" he asks

"coriolanus, you do realise that I am a phone call away from the dean to search lucy gray..and we both know how the dean feels about you." I say as he groans

"rat poison. that's what's in there, tell your treech to avoid her or something! I don't know but I need her out!"

"Coriolanus, if this is about money I can give you money"

"it's not about the money!" he shouts in my face as I flinch

we sat in a moment of silence "you're inlove with her aren't you?" i ask

"I- I don't know.." he says quietly as I nod about to leave the apartment but not before I say goodbye to tigris

"Hey tigris, I'm gonna go now..nice seeing you though!" I say as she walks up to me hugging me tightly

"you don't know how much the money will help us, thank you elia, thank you.." she says

I smile "don't worry about it" I say before my smile drops once again as my mind flashes back to my interaction with treech

"you alright?" she asks leading me in her room

"yeah i guess.. just things with my tribute" i say sadly

"he seems to have a crush on you!" she teases as I sigh

I shake my head "told me it was just a made up story, it wasn't real, it was just an act" I say trying not to cry as she hugs me tightly

"oh baby, he doesn't deserve you anyways!" she says as we talk for some time and I leave

"you feeling any better?" vhera asks

"a bit" i say as she smiles

"it's going to be alright.." she says as I nod but all I could think about was how I would manage to get treech out of that arena.
