The next day, Morgan arrived at Steve's place around mid-afternoon, and it being a Saturday, expected to find all of her friends there already and drinking.
"Where is everyone?" Morgan asked after letting herself through his front door. "Am I early?"
"Nope," Steve glanced back from the couch in the main lounge. "This is it."
Morgan peered around to see Christine and Shannon sat on the couch adjacent the man of the house.
"Where are the others?" Morgan queried before placing her handbag and a small pack of ready-to-drink alcoholic beverages down and plucking one can out.
"Lenka is babysitting, Tams with her fam, and the weird threesome are probably all off in their own corners licking their wounds," Steve informed her casually.
"Huh?" She asked before slowly taking her seat next him and cringing lightly as she rested her weight down fully on the seat.
"Damian punched Drake out on Thursday morning," Christine clarified.
"He admitted they banged?"
"They banged," Steve confirmed through prior messages to Damian that day. "I might have also threatened to spill it if Drake didn't," he gave a half shrug.
"I still don't understand how you figured it all out," Christine uttered in amazement.
"Shit," Morgan exclaimed, cracking open her can. "Here's to a hell of a new year."
Steve then raised his half a beer and clinked it against her drink before taking a sip.
"Santé," Shannon toasted in French and raised her wine glass.
"Where even is Ferrie?" Morgan thought she'd try and clarify to see Steve shrugged once more.
"She's not responding to messages or calls and Damian said he made her leave his place Thursday morning after finding out what happened."
"Shit," Morgan repeated in shock, now feeling a little guilty over giving more of her attention to a new guy in her life instead of her long-term best friend. She then pulled out her phone and hit call on her number before holding it to her ear.
"She won't answer," Steve predicted as the phone went straight to voicemail.
'It's Ferrie. Leave it.'
Morgan let off a sigh before speaking her message.
"Hi. What's happening with you? Can you call someone back, please?" She asked seriously. "Also, I have your timetable for classes next week, so get back to me."
"I hope she's okay," Christine voiced what they were all thinking.
"Mh," Christine nodded. "It's not normal to not hear from her for days."
"She'll be fine," Steve half-heartedly reassured them before turning back to Morgan. "Are we going to talk about how you've clearly just gotten out of Tony's bed?"
"Oh, god," Morgan uttered before taking a decent gulp from her drink. "How'd I know you'd be the one to bring it up?"
"Because it's that obvious."
"And because you enjoy blasting all my secrets out there with your freakish observation skills."
"Chris, back me up," he turned to look at her. "She's walking like she just hopped off a cock, right?" He queried to see Christine just shake her head back at him.
