the other side of the sea - reiner braun x reader.

Declaration of War.

I am shaken out of my stupor by the sound of Colts voice. "Gabi, Udo! Get up!" He yells. "Are you guys alright?!" I ask frantically. "We have to go, NOW!" I order.

"Huh? Where- Zofia?" Gabi asks, her eyes wide with shock and confusion. I look over to a large bolder laying on the ground. 2 small legs sticking out from underneath it, Zofias signature brown knee high socks dressed upon them. My heart sinks. "Shit." I say, stunned.

"Zofia, No!" Udo yells as he runs out of Colts arms towards the bolder. "Udo stop!" I yell. I try to scramble towards him but he's been trampled over by the crowd. People desperate to get out. I try and try to reach him but by the time I get to him he's bleeding profusely out of his head. I lift him into my arms.

All I can hear is Gabis blood curdling scream as she takes in the wasteland before us. Dead bodies, everywhere. Blood and viscera coat every surface. I am covered in it and I'm not even sure if it's mine, Udos, or some complete stranger. I stand up, Udos small, dying body in my arms. "We have to go. Now." I say sternly. We begin running with the crowd and I barely notice the flash of yellow light as the Tyburs war hammer titan transforms behind us.

We finally make it to where the injured are being held. I carry Udo up the steps to the front door. "You have to help us." I plead. "He's bleeding out. He's just a kid, please!" I beg. The man at the door takes one look at us and orders us to find a white sheet on the ground out front, there's no saving Udo. I shudder but hold back my emotions from taking over. I need to find Pieck and Porco. I need to find Reiner and Falco.

We set Udo down on the sheet. He's not breathing anymore. I look down at him and my heart cracks in my chest. He reminds me so much of Bertholdt. I wipe the blood of his face and look away.

"Gabi, you should go find your family. Stay as far away from the plaza as you can, I'm going to find Falco." Colt say, I nod in agreement. "He's right Gabi, get away from here. We will find Falco and the others." Gabi looks up slowly, her eyes void of emotion or feeling.

In this moment I can't help but see Reiners expression the day he got back from Paradis. I furrow my eyebrows. "I'm going too." She says. "Because I don't get why Udo and Zofia....needed to die." And with that she runs off. "Gabi! Wait! Colt and I yell together as we run after her.

Colt shoves me out of the way as she sprints after Gabi. I know it's just the adrenaline so I don't hold it against him. I stumble over a rock and roll down a small ledge onto the road that leads back to the plaza. I can hear things buzzing around. It sounds like really big bugs. I look up and suck in a sharp breath.

"They're here." I mutter to myself. The people from Paradis. The Scouts. Shit. I stumble up and start sprinting back towards the stage. I need to help in some way. I need to find Pieck and Pock. I need to get Reiner. My ponytail slaps me in the face as I run as fast as I can. The roaring in my ears is so loud all I can feel is the pounding of my boots against the pavement.

I'm just around the corner when I run right into someone's chest. I fly backwards and hit my head off of the ground. My vision is blurry but I try to shake it off as best I can. I look up and see a tall figure in a black suit. He's tall and has long dirty blond hair. He has a small stubble on his chin. For a moment i'm distracted by his attractiveness. I look closer and notice he's got those swords at his sides, and that symbol on his chest. 'The wings of freedom.' I remember Pieck saying once. I can't waste time reasoning with him, I know what I need to do.

I raise one hand out towards him and the other to cover my face. "Please sir. Please don't hurt me. I'm just trying to find my family." I feign helplessness. He gives a suspicious look, his hands seem to flex around the gear around his waist. I get ready to make a run for it before he gets distracted by something and quite literally flies away. I look up to where he went to and notice a flashing light. I don't have time to worry about that right now, I quickly get to my feet and start to run.

I must have really banged my head because I am seeing double. I don't let that hold me back. I could make it through this town with my eyes closed. So I do. I shut my eyes to stifle the motion sickness and keep going.

I finally reach the stage and the scene before me shocks me. I see the war hammer titan creating spears and throwing them at one of the Scouts flying around it. I see Erens titan on the ground, it's giving off steam so he must've left. I look around frantically, hoping to see him when I spot a figure standing on a roof nearby the fight. That must be him. Damn it where is everyone?

At that moment, I see Eren jump from the roof and transform. Even I have to admit that's an  impressive time between exiting and transforming again. Eren pounds his hand into the ground and pulls out what looks like a cocoon made of some sort of hard casing. Is that the same crystal shell that Annie's trapped in? It's attached to some sort of cord, and when Eren rips them apart, the war hammer falls to the ground.

No. He's going to eat the war hammer. I don't know where to go. Everyone who should be here is missing. There's no way I can go up against Eren and the other scout flying around him. They'd cut me down in an instant. Think, Y/N. THINK.

Just as Eren is about to sink his teeth into the war hammers shell, I see it. Porco is perched atop a roof ledge. Ready to jump.

"PORCO!!" I yell, even though I know he can't hear me. I start running again. I don't know where my legs are taking me but I can't just sit back and watch it all happen. The last time I did that, all my friends died. I hurdle over wood, rocks and bodies. I try not to think of what I'm stepping on as I run.

Porco leaps from the building, he quickly latches onto Erens shoulder and sinks his teeth into his neck. A shocked sob escapes my mouth. Is he going to defeat him? Are we going to win?

At that moment, someone zips through the air and slices through Porcos jaw, causing it to slacken. I stop running. Who could possibly be so fast? That was insane. Porco tries to fall back, but just as he's about to get over the building something explodes infront of him, and he plummets to the ground. I suck in a gasp. "No no no."

I scan the area to try and find somebody, anybody. The scouts are honing in on Porco. They're- they're going to kill him.

This can't be happening.
