Plan B.

Not long after the sun started to rise, I heard stirring from around the fire. The others must be getting up. I gently pushed myself off of Reiner and was surprised to see that he had managed to fall back to sleep. I groan as I stand up but leave Reiner to catch a few more winks before it's time to get up.

I make it over to the now completely burned out fire, and see Jean standing over Falco and Gabi. I'm not sure when he came back last night, it must have been before I woke Reiner up.

I watch as he leans down and gently nudges a sleeping Gabi. "Wake up." He says softy. "We need to get moving." Falco sits up and Gabis eyes widen. "Wait, you're really gonna help us?" She asks with hope in her voice. "Of course. Let's go." Jean says before walking away.

He walks past me and nods, a peace offering I assume. He heads toward where Reiner is laying against the tree, he grabs Reiner by the collar and pulls him forward. "Get your mopey ass up alreay, Reiner. Your stupid face fixed itself hours ago!" He says.

I can't help by smile to myself at the interaction. It's a bit strange to me that Reiner fought side by side with these people for years. He built bonds and friendships that could very well be deeper than even the ones he made with the warriors. He had an entire life that I wasn't apart of, and now that I'm being exposed to it, I'm trying to find my place in it.

Once we've packed all of our supplies up, we load the horse cart and load ourselves in. Pieck agreed to go on ahead to scope out the loading dock.

We've been in the cart for almost an hour, riding in silence when Conny decides to speak up. "So like. What's your whole deal Y/N? You can't turn titan, so like..what are you doing here?" If anyone else asked that question I would probably be offended but he sounds so innocent I can't help but feel like it was genuine.

"Can you turn titan?" I ask him. He looks at me and blinks twice. "Uh. No." He replies. I raise my eyebrow "Well then what are you doing here?" I hear Jean huff out a laugh and I think I even see a small smirk grace Mikasas face. I smile to myself and look out at the vast horizon.

A few moments later, we see Pieck running toward us. "Slow down, somethings wrong." Magath orders. Pieck emerges from her titan with a worried expression on her face. I look over to Reiner, his face is stoic and focused. He is already so locked in. Meanwhile, I can almost feel my body vibrating with nerves, I'm so out of practice at this whole being a soldier thing. I don't notice Reiner move his hand but I feel it when he squeezes my thigh to offer me some much needed comfort. I feel my body relax slightly at the gesture.

"It's the harbour. The Jaegerists beat us there. They've captured it, they must have gotten one of the trains up and running. There are tons of soldiers posted all of the port in full anti-titan gear." Pieck informs us. I can hear the panic in her voice. Are we too late? Is this all for nothing?

"We need that flying boat." Hange remarks. "Without it, we are dead in the water. It's our only hope. We need a plan of action." All at once, I feel multiple sets of eyes on me. I look around and see Magath, Reiner, Annie and Pieck staring right at me. I give them a look of confusion. "What?" I ask densely. Magath gives a self satisfied smirk. "I knew I sent you here for a reason."

A few moments later, I'm standing before everyone. Doing my best to present them with our best possible option of attack. "Okay so, the long and short of it is that we need the Azumabito mechanics to get the boat up and running." I feel myself fall into my familiar roll of battle planning and using the enemies actions to our advantage.

"If the Jaegerists see any of the Marleyans there, the first thing they're going to do is destroy the boat, which would sabotage the entire plan. We need to find a way to get the Jaegerists away from the Azumabito clan, before they can blow up the boat." I look around at everyone, they're focused on what I'm saying, good.
