Traitor

The next day I am back at home in my own bed. I am still feeling woozy from my concussion but I know that there is a lot to do in the coming days with the upcoming trip to Paradis. I will not be left behind this time, especially not when Gabi and Falco are over there all alone.

I start to get ready to go back to headquarters and end up throwing a pair of sunglasses on to abate my headache. I make it down the stairs and see Porco waiting for me at the door.

My heart flutters in relief, I know Reiner told me he was okay but it still puts me at ease to see him in the flesh. I haven't seen him in one piece since before Willy Tyburs speech. I take 3 quick strides toward him and wrap my arms around him.

"I am so sorry." I admit into his shoulder.

I feel him chuckle from beneath me. "Sorry for what?" He asks.

"For what I said the other day. I don't want to fight with you. Especially at times like this." I release him from the hug and look at him.

"You're okay?" I ask. "Good as new, but those ugly sunglasses on your head tell me you might not me." I jab him with my elbow. "Not nice." I tease.

"Magath wants us all at his office asap. There's a lot to go over about the attack, and- about Zeke." Porco adds. I lace my boots up and look up at him.

"Zeke?" I ask. "Not sure. But we should go." He shrugs. I stand up and we walk out the door towards Magaths office.

I haven't really been outside since the attack and the city is in shambles. The closer we get to the town square the worse it gets. I can see left over armour from the war hammers power towering above us. Almost all the buildings are either destroyed or severely damaged.

"Oh my god." I mutter when we reach the plaza where the battle between Reiner and Eren took place. There is a giant crater in the ground where Reiner landed after Eren punched him. "Not our finest moment." Porco says from beside me. It sounds like a joke but I can hear the disappointment in his tone.

I take his hand. "I felt so helpless watching you fight Eren." He squeezes my hand and I continue. "When he used your jaw to- you know. I was horrified. The fact that we spend our whole lives training to become these big bad monsters, but the second someone our own size picks on us, all of this happens." I gesture to the carnage around us.

"You're telling me." Porco adds. I look up at him, he's staring straight ahead, his eyes wide. "Are you okay?" I ask. "I told you Y/N, I'm good as-." I cut him off. "I don't mean physically." Porco looks at me and shrugs. "Are any of us?"

We finally make it to Magaths office and find Colt, Pieck and Reiner sitting around the table. Thankfully, Magath isn't here yet or else we'd be late. They all stand up as we walk in.

"Oh Y/N. Are you okay?" Pieck asks. I wrap my arms around her and breathe in her familiar scent. "I'm fine Pieck." She rears her head back to look at my face. "Then why are you wearing those awful sunglasses."

I hear Porco stifle a laugh from behind me as I pick the sunglasses off my face and throw them on the table. "Ha Ha. You guys are hilarious." I tease, deadpan.

I look back at Pieck. "Are you okay?" She smiles softly. "I am thanks to you. If you and Falco wouldn't have carried me to that house I would surely be dead." My heart pangs at the memory.

"Falco was so brave, he ran right up to you to protect you from one of the scouts. It was all him." I smile sadly and look to Colt.

I release a heavy sigh. "Oh Colt. How are you doing?" I ask, knowing the question is redundant. "I'll be better once we figure out how to get my brother back." He says coldly. "And Gabi." He adds at the end. "Yeah, me too." I say.
