Later that day, I'm standing in a crowd of people. There seems to have been some sort of situation because everyone is shouting in protest. I walk up to the front of the crowd and see what looks to me like some sort of government building. There is a girl with short dirty blonde hair trying to control the crowd. She sees me and waves me over. I look behind me and then realize she is wearing the same emblem I am. Shit.

I walk over slowly. "Back up people! Nobody is going in today. We're closed!" She yells at the onslaught of people. "Could I get a little help here?" She asks me.  "Oh uh- Sure. Sorry." I walk over to her and try to make myself seem helpful. "What's your name? I haven't seen you before."

"Annie." I blurt out without thinking. "My uh- my name is Annie. And Im new. It's my first week on the job." The girl furrows her brow slightly at me. "Well Annie, I'm Hitch." I smile at the girl as she continues to yell.

"What's this all about anyways?" I ask. Hitch's eyes widen. "You haven't heard? They're petitioning for the release of Eren Jaeger." I force my expression to remain neutral.

"He's locked up?" I ask. Hitch shrugs. "Guess so. But these people want him out. Say he's going to change Paradis for the better." She says with a sarcastic tone. "Hm" I reply.

Suddenly. There is a huge blast and my first fear is that Pieck is in trouble and had to turn titan. But when I hear a splat on the ground beside us and see a man with a long gray beard in pieces on the ground, I sigh in relief. "Oh for fuck sakes." Hitch mutters. The crowd grows even livelier and I use the distraction to get away. I say a silent goodbye to Hitch.

With this information about Eren I am desperate to find Pieck. This whole "use your better judgment" thing is stressful. I want to find Pieck and tell her what I've found out, but I wonder if I should go investigate more? Fuck this. I am really starting to miss the comfort of my desk.

I turn on my heel and head back toward that building that exploded. I am hoping I can slip in un noticed with all the commotion.

I make it back and see a whole group of people with the horse emblem on their coats have arrived, seemingly to help civilians. I spot Hitch, she's speaking to a girl with dark black hair and a tall blond boy. A closer look at them tells me they're scouts. They're wearing the wings of freedom. I hide myself in a group of people that are running into the building.

"Why do this?" I ask, hoping someone will answer. "No idea. I'm not here for answers, just here to put out the fire." I run a couple more feet with the group and then turn a corner. We are up a few floors so I look down at the view below me. The crowd is still formed but there's not as many green coats around. I need to find answers. I need to find Pieck.

I huff out in frustration. I am not cut out to be a damn detective. I rush back down the stairs and out the door before anybody notices. I walk in the opposite direction I came from and see a group of kids walking with their parents. They're quite far away and I can't see their faces, but I see a little brunette girl that looks an awful lot like Gabi. I decide to tail them just incase.

They lead me to a large building. There are about 6 children with them. I swear that's Gabi. I would bet my life on it. The door to the building opens and a tall guy with blonde hair lets them in. He looks vaguely familiar but I can't put my finger on it.

I walk out from behind the wall i'm standing behind when I see 5 people in these damn green coats walk towards the door. Damn it. It's the scouts. I see the tall guy that I ran into during Paradis invasion on Marley, I can't go over there in case he recognizes me. I need to find Pieck to think of a plan.

I turn quickly and start sprinting back to where we separated. I hope I have enough time to find Pieck and save Gabi. Chances are she knows where Falco is too. I see the fountain we were standing by and look around. "Pieck where did you go?!" I mutter to myself. We should've never split up. Big mistake. Huge.

"What's your issue?" I hear Piecks voice ask from behind me. I fling myself around. "Where the hell have you been?!" I demand. "I found Gabi. I also found out where they're keeping Eren." I say quietly. "Why are you looking around like a crazy person?" Pieck asks. "Because I'm stressed out and I'm looking for you!" Pieck smiles and I roll my eyes.

"We have to hurry if we want to get Gabi. I know where she is but I don't think we have much time. She was with a bunch of kids, and then the scouts showed up. I didn't have an opportunity to grab her." I sigh. "Eren is missing." Pieck tells me. "What?! Just this morning I was in a crowd of people begging for him to be released. How could he be missing?"

Pieck shrugs. "I'm not entirely sure but I know he's missing. We need to lay low I have a feeling I know what his next move is and if we try to rescue Falco and Gabi now it'll botch whole plan" I take a deep breath. "If you say so."

...

We find shelter in the back of a store after closing time. We need to wait it out until tomorrow. When we have a better shot of getting the kids and getting out. We're sitting in complete darkness as to not get caught.

"Pieck can I ask you something?" I say. My voice seems so loud when it breaks the silence. "Anything." She replies. "Do you really believe this people are devils? I mean- they seem pretty normal to me. I even met one today who seemed pretty cool. I think you would have liked her."

I hear Pieck roll over. "No. I think we're just different sides of the same coin. We both believe what we're doing is the right thing. We're the bad guys in each other's story." I lay back.

"You're probably right Pieck." I say before my eyelids shut and I fall asleep.
