Chapter 45

I walked down the hall to see Tyler and Nic glaring at each other in my office. I looked and a woman sat down with her legs crossed on the couch. She had curly hair, brown skin, brown eyes. She was gorgeous just like Lia. I looked to see her staring at Tyler and Nic.

"The last time I'll say leave her alone" Nic said as I walked in "And I told you to stay in the car" he said to the girl.

"What's going on?" I asked

"I don't need to hear this" She said standing up not before looking at Nic once more then walking out the room past me. I watched as Tyler watched her the whole way out. I shook my head knowing how this will go. Tyler loves the chase and especially a woman he can't have. He won't let her go.

Tyler grabbed the bottle off my desk and walked out past Nic. Nic stared at him.

"Keep your dog away from my sister" He said to me and I raised a brow

"We're chosen family and I'll kill for her including him." Nic said and I nodded

"Not even I have the power to keep him from someone especially a woman." I said and Nic's jaw clenched.

"Well I can." He said "She's off limits"

"Overprotective much?" I asked "She seems old enough to make her own choices."

"I know his type. She won't be another toy he plays with then discards." He said and I nodded

"Well then." I said sitting at my desk "You have the address for me?"

"Yea I'll be by tomorrow to give it to you." He said about to walk out

I stood up. "Wait. Give it to me now" I said

"So you can go there in the middle of the night because you can't help yourself. No" He said walking out and my jaw clenched. "Uh Cameron. I think you might want to see this."

I came out into the hallway to see Lia there and I went towards her until I saw Eli behind her with a gun to her head.

I reached for my gun.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you." He said and a group of men walked in behind him. I looked out the door and saw Tyler on his knees with a gun pointed to his head and the girl from earlier behind his back.

I looked at Lia and she looked scared. She had a print around her neck like she had been choked. My jaw clenched and I looked at her.

"In the sitting room." He said to me and one of his guys grabbed both me and Nic pulling us into the sitting room.

"Nara you okay?" Nic asked to the girl outside fighting against his hold

"Nic I'm fine. Don't do anything stupid" She said and I saw one of Tyler's hands reach back to hold her into his back before I was pulled into the sitting room.

The guards from outside ushered in Tyler and Nara and he still had her behind his back. They were forced to their knees and Tyler held her hand tightly in his.

The guard forced me to my knees and I looked at Lia. Elijah pushed her down on the ground next to me. I helped her up after glaring at Elijah.

"Are you okay love?" I asked her making her look at me and tears shone in her eyes. She smiled at me and nodded. I wiped her tears and kissed her forehead. I pulled her into me.

"I'm sorry. I messed up. I'm sorry" She said shaking her head and crying

"Hey no. Stop it's not your fault." I said

I heard him laugh like he was insane. I looked at him wanting to kill him.

"You were right Cameron. Her pussy was good" He said and my body stiffened. Did he take advantage of her? I tried to rise but I the guard held me down.

"Cameron he's lying" She said looking at Eli

"For four months you played me thinking this was a new beginning for us. She made me think that she was going to kill herself. Left me a note and everything. It broke my fucking heart. Me and my men searched in the woods for her all morning. Only to come to see one of my vehicles gone. I don't think she knew about the tracker though. She would've done any and everything to get back to you Cameron. Even die because when I caught her she told me to kill her. I wouldn't do that. I will never do that. But you hurt me princess far beyond repair. I need you to hurt too." Eli said pointing his gun at me

"Please Eli stop." She cried crawling in front of me

"Lia-" I started feeling my throat get dry. My tears blurred my vision. "Lia love, listen to me."

I made her look at me. She shook her head. "Cameron no. It doesn't end like this. I can't lose you." She cried and I held her chin tighter.

"Any last words?" Eli asked and I glared at him.

"It does love." I said looking back at her. "Look at me. You will be okay without me. You are so strong. You need to see what I see every single day. I know it's hard now to see but you will. I am so proud of you."

She shook her head. "We were supposed to get married, and have kids and spend the rest of our lives together. How can you expect me to give up on that? To give that up." She cried and I wiped her tears.

I forced a smile through my tears. "You don't give up. You never give up. You will have all that. What's not to love about you? Any..m..man would jump at the opportunity to give you what you deserve my love."

I lied so badly. I never lied. But now I had to for her. Truth was I wanted to be that man and if I couldn't be I'd rather be dead.

"Now I get why you don't lie. You're bad at it." She said laughing softly through her tears.

"And you're right. But I don't want just any man Cameron. I want you. And for once in my life I want to be selfish" She said and I looked at her carefully

"Alright that's enough" Elijah said turning the safety off the gun

"Eli. This is insane" Nic started and Elijah shot Nic in the chest.

Nic dropped to the ground and I heard screaming. I looked to see Nara run towards him but Tyler held her down as the guards pointed guns at her. She cried in his arms. "Let me go. Please."

Lia looked at me and her head rested on my chest. I closed my eyes taking in these last moments. I ran my hand along her chin and her lips and her cheeks and smiled at her softly. She looked up at me smiling softly too and I couldn't read her expression.

"There's no world for me without you in it" she said lowly as she hugged me and I felt her reach behind me for my gun. Before I could grab it from her she put the gun to her head.
