I open my eyes and my mind instantly wants to dissect the issue of normality. But I shoo those thoughts away and force myself to sit up. I climb out of bed and think of what to wear as I stand in front of my closet of clothes. I want jeans and some type of shirt. I decide that the light blue one will work perfectly. I take one of three pairs of skinny jeans I own and the light blue t-shirt and throw them on quickly. I walk out to the kitchen and to my surprise, my dad isn't in there cooking. I shrug it off after I hear him snoring in the other room. I check the oven clock and realize that I don't have time to make any food and instead grab my school bag. I quickly go outside and walk to the bus stop. I wait there for a minute and the bus comes right on time.

I walk in and can feel everyone's eyes on me, even the bus driver looks suspicious for some reason. I take a deep breath and walk down the aisle, and to my seat.

"Nathan," I say to the chair, "Could you please become visible? I would feel a lot better if I could see you."

Nathan becomes visible but only for a second until the redhead kid comes in. He looks at the empty seat next to me and then at me. His eyes grow wide and afraid when he looks at me.

"Your lucky that girl is here to protect you, Nathan," he growls at the chair before walking past us. I roll my eyes and glance out the window. Nathan becomes visible once again.

"Wow," Nathan says looking at me.

"What?" I ask, returning the glance.

"That's the first time he actually used my real name instead of some insult," Nathan answers with wide eyes. I giggle at him and look out the window. Trees flash by as we roll down streets and I close my eyes until the bus stops.

As I walk through the campus, I breathe slowly and walk by Nathan's side. We walk to where our group of friends hangs out whenever we have free time before and after class. We walk up to a picnic table with all my friends sitting around and laughing at each other. As Nathan and I sit, the table becomes quiet. My smile suddenly grows as Juno holds my hand underneath the table. He is so nice and warm. I look at him and he looks at me.

"Happy?" Juno whispers.

"Very," I answer. We both smile and I giggle slightly as I look away. I hope I'm not blushing too much. I look up at Tara and she is whispering to Liz and smiling uncontrollably. Juno looks up at them and they stop staring but they continue laughing and I join in.

"What am I missing?" Nathan asks looking at us girls of the group. We continue laughing, but now at Nathan.

"What are you guys so crazy about?" Milo asks, his face unsure of whether to smile or be concerned. We laugh and laugh until the bell rings. My smile fades as I realize I have to let go of Juno's hand. However, my smile returns as Nathan walks with me to class.

As we walk into the classroom, the bell rings and we sit in our seats.

"Where were you yesterday?" I hear Hugo ask me. I turn to him and I can't help but smile.

"Not here," I answer, trying not to go into detail.

"I noticed," he states, looking at my wings, "Hey, have I told you that I really like your wings? They're badass."

"You're just saying that," I state with gritted teeth, looking at the teacher.

"No really, I mean it," I can hear him state rather loudly, "They're beautiful."

I turn to him, slightly skeptical, and smile. I try to thank him but the teacher begins to talk before the words come out of my mouth.

"Now that you have planned your project with your partner yesterday," the teacher begins, "your homework is to begin your project with your partner."
