I walk in the dark, shivering. Juno was talking about his house and how it was a two story, pale grey house with a white door. I'm walking on the street it is said to be on. I don't think I can do it. The rain is coming back with more force than a half an hour ago. The falling water is annoying me but there's nothing to do but get drenched, wipe my face, and continue walking. I look up from my feet and see the exact house Juno was talking about. It's beautiful. I slowly walk up the paved path to the front door. I'm now standing underneath the shade about the door. I can't help but just stand there staring at the door. It's nearly spotless and has a doorbell next to the door knob. I have to do this. I have waited years to be able to come back to them without bringing an angry army behind me. I take a deep breath and hold it in as I press the button. There was a calming tune that played before the door opened. I see a woman in a purple robe and polka-dotted green socks in the doorway.
"Juno?" she asks me with concerned eyes. I shake my head and open my mouth slightly. A man runs to the woman's side, dressed in a dark blue fuzzy robe.
"Juno's back?" he asks, just as eager as his wife. I shake my head once more, unable to talk. The woman takes a step out of the door an closer to me. She studies me closely and brings her hand to my cheek. Her thumb swipes over my birthmark on my left cheek and she gasps slightly.
"J-Jack?" she asks with wide eyes. Tears fill my eyes as I nod once. The man and women's arms wrap around me tightly. It feels so nice to hug them again. They are very warm against my cold body. They suddenly push me away for a second.
"Are you still wanted by the king and queen?" they ask. I shake my head and they walk me inside the warm house. They sit on a comfortable looking couch as I sit on the ground before them. They look like they want to know everything, so I tell them my entire life from the moment I left them, to now. I leave the part when Juno is killed because I don't think I can talk about that just yet. Afterwards, they seem very amazed.
"So, where's Juno?" the man asks me with slightly confused eyes. I knew this question was coming.
"He..." I stutter quietly, "he was... killed."
The man and woman gasp before breaking down in tears as they hold each other. My head falls into my hands as I sob. I had just found him. We were so close to coming home together. I feel my parents' arms wrap around me softly. We mourn over Juno together on the carpeted floor. I should have at least touched his face before I left. I should have appreciated him more. It feels awkward being hugged by the man and woman, but I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. I'm finally home.
