"I'm hungry," Milo whines. These people are needy.
"There is an apple orchard not too far from the forest we're in," I announce, sitting down by Juno on my bed. They all slept here. All of them. It was like shoving seven bears in one small cave. And then feeding all seven bears with one jar of honey. This is crazy.
"Do you guys want to go?" Milo asks, standing and putting his shoes on.
"Are you going, Jack?" Juno asks me. I nod. Who else is going to show the way for Milo?
"I'm hungry too," Tara states, "I'll go with you."
"Me too," Nathan pipes in. He usually says something when Tara says something or does what ever Tara is doing. I'm not too sure why and I don't really care. Juno has his shoes on already and is at the door waiting for us.
"I guess I'll go too," a boy with dark green eyes says as he stands. What was his name again? He was the shapeshifter one that stuck with Alice... Oh, whatever.
"So, everyone is going?" I ask, looking around the room. Everyone nods and now have all their shoes on. I have had the same shoes for many years and they have a few holes in them. They were big when I was ten so now I have grown into them a little too much. But I don't wear shoes that much. Sometimes I make grass move underneath my feet to create a cushion by touching it where ever my footsteps land, making shoes a thing of the past, but I don't do it often. I also fear that a beautiful flower might grow on the grass and I wouldn't be able to kill the flower. I hate killing things, that's why when something dies, I have a strong urge to put something back in its place.
I walk to the door and am the first person to leave, lighting the way. I lightly push the ground door open and look at the dirt and listen for any disturbances until I conclude that no one is in this forest except the five annoying bears, my brother and myself. I shove the door open and step out into the forest. The smell of the dried leaves and morning dew hits me as soon as I breathe. I love it. The air is so fresh out here. Juno is walking beside me as the five loud bears talk away from behind us. I don't know their faces to their voices quite yet but I can definitely hear them chatting loudly.
"I am so hungry."
"I'm more hungry than you."
"Well, I could eat a whole pie."
"I could eat three whole pizzas."
"I beat you both, I could eat three pizzas and five pies."
I take a deep breath. I don't understand some of the things they say. Most likely because I haven't been really talking to anyone besides a prince.
"Sorry," Juno says, leaning into me.
"For what?" I ask, confused.
"Them," Juno answers, tilting his head towards the five behind us.
"Not your fault," I answer, looking ahead of us.
"Are you sure you don't want to talk about Mom and Dad?" Juno asks me once again.
"No, Juno," I answer, the same as the last time Juno asked me that question.
"Why?" Juno asks. I knew that was coming.
"Because I don't want to know what has been taken away from me," I explain once more, "I rather think that nothing has changed and that I am simply meeting you once again."
"But you aren't just meeting me again, Jack!" Juno surprisingly says, shoving me slightly. I stop and frown at him as he rants off.
"I have missed you so much for five years and had no clue where you went and I just had to live with it," Juno continues, "You knew the happy, perfect Juno, but missing an older brother that I had looked up to for five years, broke me, Jack. It broke me. I don't want you to meet the broken Juno."
