{6. Red String}

Legend has it that there is an invisible red string that connects us to those we are destined to meet. It symbolises good luck, love, protection, no matter how far apart and no matter how long apart, the two people destined for each other always end up together. This magical cord may stretch or get tangled but it'll never ever break. The red string of fate appears on either the ankles or the pinkie finger at the age of ten and for Marinette Dupain-Cheng she's been wondering who the person she is destined to be with is ever since the red string appeared around her left pinkie.

Now at the age of eighteen, Marinette is at college as she's heard how Alya has met her soulmate which turned out to be Nino and Marinette knew her best friend would end up with him since she knew how much Alya liked Nino so it was no surprise they ended up together. She met Nino when she was sixteen and they've been dating for two years as Marinette hopes to meet her soulmate one day.

"Who do you think my soulmate could be, Alya? I hope whoever my soulmate knows me and isn't some random stranger since it would be a bit awkward. Anyways I'm glad you found yours," Marinette said to Alya as they were both in the library together and talking about random topics with each other.

"Maybe it could be Adrien since he hasn't found his soulmate yet and I know how much you like him but you always mess up when trying to confess to him by fumbling your words. Anyways I hope you find your soulmate sooner or later. Don't worry so much about it," Alya said to Marinette as Marinette knew that she had to be patient and wait to find out who her soulmate is but deep down she really wanted Adrien to be her soulmate because she had a crush on him.

Marinette and Alya continued to talk with one another as two familiar boys entered the library before they headed towards the girls. Alya turned around to see her boyfriend, Nino, along with Adrien as Marinette smiled and waved at Adrien who waved back but she saw her red string appear which connected to Adrien's right pinkie. Both Marinette and Adrien gasped as Marinette got up before going to over to Adrien while the red string glowed slightly. The string disappeared as Marinette couldn't believe it and Adrien was also in shock but they both were glad to be each other's soulmate.

"You're my soulmate, Marinette. I've finally found the one who I am destined to be with and it turns out to be someone who I have a crush on. You're the one," Adrien said to Marinette as he pulled her close before he kissed her on the lips while Marinette's eyes widened but she kissed Adrien back and they both pulled away afterwards when they heard their friends clapping for them.

"I've finally found my soulmate too and I'm glad you're the one, Adrien. I've also had a crush on you but every time I would try to confess, I always fumbled my words and never ended up confessing to you. Now that I know you're my soulmate, I just want to say that I love you so much and I want to be your girlfriend," Marinette said to Adrien as they both kissed again before they pulled away and they were both glad to have found each other. The red string of fate had brought them together as they couldn't be more happier and their friends were also happy for them.
