as they approached the hotel, jake couldn't help but feel scared about facing the rest of the group, heeseung noticed it and he held jake's hand tight to reassure him that he wasn't alone
but as they entered the lobby, jake was met with warm smiles and welcoming arms from his friends. sunghoon rushed forward, squeezing him in a tight hug.
"jakey, we were so worried about you!" sunghoon exclaimed, his voice filled with genuine concern.
jake felt tears at the corners of his eyes as he returned the hug, feeling overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from his friends.
"we're just glad you're okay, hyung," jungwon said, his voice soft but sincere.
heeseung stood by jake's side, a reassuring presence among the sea of emotions. his hand found its way to jake's shoulder, offering silent support and understanding.
"t-thank you, everyone," jake said, his voice choked with emotion. "i... i'm grateful to have you all in my life."
jake saw his mom behidn his friends and looked to heeseung. heeseung sensed jake's discomfort and gave his hand a reassuring squeeze, silently reminding him that he wasn't alone.
helen approached slowly, her eyes filled with sorrow. "jake, i... i'm so sorry for everything," she began, her voice quivering with emotion. "i know i can never undo the pain i've caused you, but i want to try to make things right."
jake knew deep down that holding onto anger wouldn't bring him peace.
taking a deep breath, jake met his mom's gaze, his voice steady but tinged with sadness. "it's going to take time, mom," he said, "but... i'm willing to try."
helen's eyes filled with tears as she pulled jake into a hesitant hug, the weight of years of separation and hurt melting away, if only for a moment.
heeseung watched the exchange with a mixture of relief and understanding, silently offering his support to jake.

"yeah, i'm starving," sunoo agreed, rubbing his stomach with a grin.
the others nodded in agreement, eager to shift the focus to something more uplifting.
jake glanced at heeseung, grateful for his support, before turning to his mom. "would you like to join us?" he asked hesitantly, extending his hand.
helen's eyes widened in surprise, clearly taken aback by the offer. "i... i would love to," she replied, a hint of hope in her voice.
with that, the group headed to the hotel's restaurant, their laughter and chatter filling the air.
