Chapter 16

Yoshitsune's POV
I stared down at hinatas sleeping form and smiled. She's so innocent. She looks so helplessly sweet. She has no idea... No idea bout me... No idea about who I really am... What I'm going to have to do.. But how can I do it whenever I'm falling for her... I carefully untangled myself from under her. Once I was free from her grasp I carefully walked over to her window and Unlatched it. I slid it up carefully praying the thing wouldn't make a peep. Once it was open wide enough I slid out of her window and onto a tree that was beside her window and climbed down it. The bark cut into my hands but I didn't mind it. My hands had toughened up immensely since the day I was old enough to start being trained for my life that was to come. I was trained like a soldier. It was my life and All i had ever known. For periods of time over the years since I had met Hinata whenever we could walk practically.. I would disappear for a few weeks and then come back. And disappear and then come back. I never told anyone where I was going because I knew they would hate me to the bone if they knew who I really was. So would Hinata. At least I think she would. I walked over to my horse midnight who was still tied up lurking in the shadows and got on her immediately. I kicked her a couple times and got her running. I had someone I had to see and a place to be. I sped my way to town as my mind continued to race.
Hinata has always been the one person who ever truly understood me except Gloria of course but she was family. Hinata wasn't. She was a true friend. She was my only friend as well.
I had been taught to never trust anyone. But Hinata she gained my trust the moment I met her. I couldn't understand it but I just had an immediate sense of trust with her. At the time I was very young but even now still I didn't understand it.
I was at war with my own heart and my responsibilities. I was falling in love with her I think. I'm not ready to admit anything. Cause then he would use her as my weakness. Another thing I was taught. Never have any weaknesses. Cause then they can be used against you. I knew what my job was and I knew it had to be done but I so badly didn't want to have to do it. But i didn't have a choice. Once I came across the alley the guy I was meeting requested we meet at I tied midnight to a nearby post at a market that was long past closed for the night and walked into the alley. "I'm here..." I said through gritted teeth. I heard him let out a chuckle and said,"did I interrupt something???" I was going to say yes but then that would give him a reason to follow me more. And get closer to Hinata. I shook my head and said in a light hearted voice,"noooo... Nothing at all.. " the guy smiled in the darkness that enveloped him and said,"I see... Here's the message he wanted me to give you... And do you have the report I am to give to him?" I nodded slightly and retrieved the piece of paper from my saddle bag that I had put in my pocket before I came into the alley. God help me if I were to lead him any closer to her. I handed him the folded paper and he handed me a piece of paper as well. I shoved it in my pocket not bothering to read it. I'll read it later.
The guy clutched the paper tightly in his hands and said,"he will be pleased... Also he wanted me to tell you he is getting very impatient... He said if you didn't fufill your purpose here in the next few days he would send someone else here to get the job done..." I nodded and swallowed tightly. I'm running out of time with her... "How much time do I have at most??" I asked him. He then replied "5 days... No more than that..." I nodded and clenched my fists tightly at my sides. The guy stepped more out of the darkness and I recognized him immediately. "You do realize this is a very delicate situation.. I have to do it very carefully... He will get what he wants.. Just give me time..." The man I was talking to stepped back into the darkness and said,"delicate situation my ass... Your falling for her..." I glared at him and said,"I am not! But your snoopy ass outta this and leave me alone. I don't need crap from you too..." The guy chucked darkly and said,"whatever Yoshitsune.. We will meet again soon.. Goodbye.. And don't fall too hard for her... It would be a shame If he were to eliminate her because she is your weakness.." I saw red. I stormed over to him and grabbed his neck in both of my hands. I pinned him against the wall and said,"don't you dare talk about her one.. Two butt the hell out.. And three if you ever mess around with her or hurt her in anyway I will hunt you down and snap your neck like a damn twig. Is that understood.." The guy nodded and said,"yes dad..." I clenched my jaw tighter and said,"I mean it... Stay away from her.." I dropped his pathetic ass on the ground and stormed off to the entrance of the alley. He really needs a life. I turned quickly and said with a snicker,"by the way Lang give midnight extra oats..." I heard him let out an irritated huff and snickered. Yes it may have been childish to use a dig like that but the smart ass deserved it. He needed to be put in his place and if I had to Id make sure he knew his place and kept his happy rear in it. He won't get anywhere near Hinata. And if he did he wouldn't see the light of day. Once I left the ally I had a feeling I was being watched. I got into midnight and did a 360 search of the area I was in but I saw nothing. Hmm... I shrugged it off and began making my way back to the castle. Wait! I need an excuse for why I was gone... She probably woke up already the sun was starting to come up already. In about an hour it will be up completely. Then I thought back to when kirodayu ran off at the creek. Perfect! I kicked midnight to get her running and sped off in the direction of the creek.
