Chapter 22 The warning

Hinatas POV
I was lying somewhere.... On a cot perhaps.. I would catch bits of pieces and conversations that we're going on around me... I could feel someone's hand holding mine.. A felt a kiss be pressed to my hand... More than likely yoshitsune.. I tried to open my eyes but I couldn't and it hurt to breathe. A broken rib or two maybe three possibly. The pain was unbearable. Why couldn't I remember the pain I was feeling.. My thoughts drifted back to when I was still inside the castle. I remembered lots of smoke.. And flames... And I remembered seeing Goyo round the corner with Maria and Jasmine.... It was getting impossible to breathe.. My eyes were getting heavy I fought to stay awake. Just then some beam from the ceiling had fallen and landed on top of me. I heard my ribs crack and I couldn't even muster a scream. I didn't have energy to. I used the last of my remaining energy to roll out from under the beam and shove it off. After some effort the beam rolled off of me. I was barely holding onto consciousness when I heard someone scream my name. "Hinata!!!" It yelled. It sounded like Yoshitsune. He was coming for me. He was going to save me. I allowed my eyes to close as I heard him bounding up the stairs. When he must have seen me I heard him sprint towards me. He had scooped me up into his arms. And by my guess he was running down the stairs and I allowed the darkness to overtake me. And boy it did. The second I stopped fighting it.

Goyo POV
I was running down the stairs with Jasmine and Maria in my arms and I paused when I heard something fall. I saw hinata making her way to the stairs slowly. I didn't take the time to see where the object had fallen. Even though it would have been smart of me to make sure she was okay. But I knew she would never forgive me if something happened to the unconscious girls over my shoulders. I could tell she was weak. Really weak. I'll have to go and help her once Jasmine is safe. And Maria of course. I burst out the door and ran towards the medical tents and made sure they got help. As I was turning to go back into the castle when I realized hinata hadn't made it out I saw Yoshitsune running out of the castle doors with Hinata unconscious in his arms. She was covered in dirt and ashes. She looked lifeless and pale in his arms. I fought the urge to run to her. She was with Yoshitsune. So instead I ran back towards Jasmine. I hope she is okay. She just has to be. Fear tugged at my heart at the thought of her not being okay. I ran to jasmines bedside and fell to my knees. She too was covered in the dirt and ashes. She had a couple burns on her thy had been bandaged and had an oxygen mask on her and was plugged up to monitors as well. I hated seeing her hurt. I took her hand in mine gently. She has no one here for her. So I'll be here for her. She needs someone. And I'll be that someone.

Hinatas POV
As I was lying there I heard someone start speaking quietly at my side. Yoshitsune. "Hinata... Baby... If you can here me... I want you to come back to me please.. I'm sorry I got there so late... I feel like the whole thing is my fault.. You getting hurt.. And if I was too late getting to you.. It's my job to protect you as your boyfriend.. I feel like I failed you... I'm so sorry ..." I felt him press his face against my hand and felt moisture going into my hands. He was crying.. Oh my goodness. I began working on trying to wake up now. Even though my body said no my mind and heart had other plans. I put all my energy into waking up.

Yoshitsune's POV
I felt my heart threatening to shatter inside of me at the sight of seeing her so fragile and weak. The doctors had said that she had three broken ribs. I didn't know how she got those but when I thought about it I remembered seeing a beam beside her on the ground. It must have fallen on top of her when she was trying to escape. My breath caught in my throat when I pictured the whole thing. How did she get it off of her? Did Goyo help her. I don't think he did cause he wouldn't have left her there in danger. I hoped and prayed that she would wake up. And her getting hurt and not waking up would be my fault. When I was running to the castle on midnight I saw people dressed in all black that looked like ninjas. They didn't bother messing with me. They continued running through the Forest and trees. It suddenly clicked and I realized this wasn't an ordinary attack. It was a sign. A warning. A warning just for me. A warning from him. He was warning me that I better get the job done or there would be consequences. Lang must have told him about my sudden interest in her. That bastard. I was Ganna beat the tar out of him the next time I saw him. That traitor. Suddenly the emperor walked in and set an envelope on the foot of hinatas cot. It was addressed to her. Looked like It had been in the flames. It looked like it was written by a woman. The hand writing was too neat for a mans handwriting. I don't open it but instead pressed Hinatas hand against my cheek as tears silently escaped from my eyes. Please come back to me hinata. Please I need you. I prayed and hoped to God that she would wake up soon. She just has to. Before I lose my mind and start doing irrational things.
