Blair's POV
As we walked through the crowded streets there seemed to be a change in direction and we were walking against it. I felt Mikey grab my hand in his and pull me so I was walking his pace.
He sweetly opened the car door for me before jogging to his side and starting up the car.
We were quiet for the majority of the ride.

"Uh where are we going?" I asked.

"Uh tonight-" He spoke while checking over his shoulder to switch lanes. "We're going to my house."

"Uh..."

"Not like that. I didn't mean it in a dirty way. Where is your mind at right now?" He joked.

I laughed lightly. "I don't even know. I've had too much to drink." I mumbled.

All too quickly, Michael slammed on the breaks causing the cars behind us to do the same while blaring the horn.

"Michael! You're going to kill us!" I shouted and swatted at his arm that had protectively shot out in front of me.

"You were drinking?" He shouted.

"I-"

"You're nineteen! You could go to jail for that! It's illegal, Blair!" He said.

The anger etched in his feature were unmissable and I quickly found myself getting defensive.

"My whole damn job is illegal, Michael! You think I was willingly drinking so I would be so blasted that I couldn't turn a man down? It's not my choice! It never has been!" I shouted.

"Blair-" He started saying but I put my hand up to stop him.

I hadn't even realized he had started driving again until he put his blinker on.

"Pull over." I spoke.

"Excuse me?" He said looking at me.

"I said pull the hell over." I said harshly.

He stayed quiet. I could tell he was having an internal battle with himself.

"Fine." He spoke harshly.

I was a little surprised that he actually pulled over but I didn't look back as I quickly pulled the handle and jumped out. Of course he would pull over. He was doing this for work not because he cared. Why the heck did he get so angry when he found out I was drinking? I wouldn't have been if Mark hadn't told me that I had to or I could forget about the money.

Michael's POV
I sighed as she slammed the door and I put my head on the wheel.

What the heck was that about, Mikey? I scolded myself. She didn't deserve that. The poor girl is broken and I just yelled at her because I couldn't fathom the idea of a young girl going through this. It was sick. This whole case was just stressing me out beyond belief. It was probably the most risky case we've ever had. However, I would never tell her how much danger she was actually in.

Before I could continue complaining I jerked my head up remembering the overly attractive girl was walking around with practically nothing on under my big sweater at nigh in New York City. I could still see her walking up ahead.

"Damn it." I cursed as I jumped out of the car, making sure to lock it. "Blair!" I yelled as I ran after her. She was too far away to actually hear me though so I continued running.

"Blair! I didn't mean anything I just said!" I quickly rushed my words as I gripped her arm to turn her around. She had tears streaming down her face when I spun her around. "Blair-"

And before I knew it she threw her arms around me and was fully sobbing.

"I can't do it anymore." She gasped through tears.

"Sh. It's okay. You don't have to do this anymore. I know this won't be easy but you'll never go through this alone. I'll be by your side the entire time." I said soothingly as I stroked her hair.

"You- you won't leave me?" She asked, looking up to me with the most pain filled eyes I've ever seen.

"No. I won't leave you." I promised before she fell into my chest again. "Lets get you back in the car, baby." I spoke.

She nodded but didn't show any sign of moving so I made a decision to pick her up and carry her. As she kept her head buried in my chest and wrapped her arms around my neck I looked her over, noticing she wasn't wearing her heels anymore. I sighed hoping she wouldn't get sick. She must have kicked them off in the car. I can't say I'd blame her. I couldn't walk in those things for more than a second, nor would I ever want to!

I wasn't sure why I felt so much compassion towards her but I did and I knew it would never end.

 This one was different.

I looked over at the small girl that was now curled up in the passengers seat as I blasted the heat.

"I'll keep you safe. I promise." I whispered before taking off.
