3rd person POV
Michael sat in the giant waiting room of the local Sydney Emergency Room with his head in his hands and his knee bouncing due to anxiety. He had been altering between siting in the uncomfortable chairs to pacing up and down the halls, making sure never to wander to far incase a nurse or doctor came out to get him. Michael has been in this same building for three hours now. The last thing he had heard about Blair was she needed surgery, they didn't say what kind of surgery or what specifically it was for or even how long it would take.

While Michael was stuck out in a waiting room, the girl he was so worried for lay peacefully unconscious in her hospital bed as doctors rushed around her to get the beeping machines to calm down.

Michaels POV
"Michael!" My head shoots up as I hear a familiar voice.

My eyes furrow in confusion as I stand up. "Calum, what are you doing here?" I asked as I look around.

"Where is she? Is she okay?" He asked as he pulled me in for a quick hug.

"I don't know. They won't tell me anything." I frantically ran my fingers through my already disheveled hair. "How did you even know?"

"You can't keep everything from us, mate." He spoke.

I opened my mouth to further press the issue but stopped when another voice called.
"Michael Clifford?" A nurse called, looking around the room.

I quickly rushed over to her with Calum trailing close behind. "Yeah? Is she okay?" I rushed out.

He slowly nodded before looking at the clipboard she was holding against her hip. "Blair is fine. The surgery went well and she is now stable."

I breath a breath of relief. "Oh thank Go-"

"However-" She interrupted. "The wound was quite serious and she will be in some pain for the next few weeks."

I nodded slowly, taking in the information. "Can I see her?"

She sighed before nodding. "She isn't awake yet but yes, one of you can go in." She spoke.

I was confused as to why she had to mention that until I felt a hand on my shoulder and turned around to see Calum nodding before going to sit down. I had been so caught up in what the nurse would say that I had almost forgotten that Cal was here with me.

"Thank you." I spoke.

She nodded before pointing down the hall. "Room 212."

I nodded quickly, looking back at Calum, before walking down the hall searching for the right room.

As soon as I walked in my heart stopped. Blair was laying on the small bed, her legs wrapped in a blanket and a hospital gown covering her chest but her stomach was only clad in gauze and bandages. Her light tan had faded as a pale color had set in. Her usually happy face was still scrunched up in pain with a small oxygen tube lightly placed under her nose. Her hands and arms held multiple tubes and needles.

"Blair." I spoke lightly as I reached out to grab her hand. Before I could stop myself, I had tears dripping from my eyes. "I'm so sorry."

Blair's POV
My whole body ached and my eyelids were heavy as hell. I groaned as I tried to sit up but immediately stopped when I felt a stinging pain in my side. Instead I focused all my energy on getting my eyes to open. After listening to the machine next to me beep for a few minute I hesitantly opened my eyes only to squint at the bright light.

"What the hell?" I spoke as I let my fingers ghost over all the gauze on my abdomen.

"Blair, don't touch." My head snapped up to see Mikey sitting in a small chair a few feet away.

"Hey." I spoke softly.

"Hi." He mumbled.

We sat in silence for a minute before the door swung open and in came a doctor.
I listened as he told me the stab wound was deep enough to cause more damage then favored, but then again is any kind of damaged favored?

He told me I would be prescribed some pretty heavy pain meds and gave me the lecture on what I can and can't do and for how long. The only good piece of news he told me was that I would be leaving tomorrow morning if I was feeling up for it. As he left he didn't fail to mention the amount of pain I would be in for the next couple of weeks. Great.

"I am so sorry." Michael spoke as soon as the door was shut.

I lightly laughed. "It wasn't your fault, don't apologize."

"Blair, if I hadn't sent you off to get us something to drink then Liam never would have-" He stopped, exhaling deeply. "I don't even know how he got in the building."

I stayed quiet as I watched him for a minute. There was more behind the story and I wanted to know. "Who is Liam? What does he have against me?" I asked.

He furrowed his eyes for a minute. "It's not what he has against you, it's what he has against me."

I gave a confused look but he shook his head. "We will talk about it when we get home."

I nodded and fiddled with my thumbs debating on saying what I've actually been thinking.

"Speaking of, I think I want to go home." I said quietly as Mikey scooted closer.

"And we will, tomorrow." He said brushing his finger over my cheek.

"No Mikey. I want to go home." I said waiting for him to understand but he showed no sign of understanding. "Like New York, home."
