Blair's POV
I've been laying in bed for at least an hour now just listening to the birds outside. I was highly dreading having to walk down those stairs and face Mikey. I suppose I should have just stayed in my room but usually when you hear voices you don't just sit there and wait. I sighed as I threw the blankets back and walked into the bathroom to do my morning routine. Once I finished with that I walked back out to the big open room and walked to another door, which I assumed was the closet. I doubted there would even be anything in this closet but if it fit the size of this house then it would be a huge walk in closet and I've always dreamed of having my own. To my surprise the huge, room-like closet was full. Shirts and blouses lined the right wall while dresses line the left. Leaving the back wall to hang all coats, sweaters, and long sleeve shirts. Below the clothing on the right side were two dressers labeled and ready for my use. I looked at the dressers to see the first two drawers were full of skinny jeans, the second two were stuffed with leggings and sweatpants, the third set of two drawers were labeled 'shorts and skirts', and the last set consisted of socks, bras and panties. Under the clothing on the back wall were two hampers for dirty laundry and on the lining of the floor under the clothes of the left wall were shoes. There was literally every shoe from Vans to Louis Vuitton heels.
I stood there with my jaw on the ground staring at everything before finally shaking my head and deciding what to wear. After a while of looking at all the clothing in front of me I opted for black leggings and an old black and red Ozzy Osborne shirt, that I'm assuming use to be Michael's due to the size. After I slipped a pair of socks on I slowly made my way downstairs and followed the loud clamor to the kitchen.
"You're a fucking idiot." Michael laughed.
I came to a stop when I saw his friends sitting around a long table eating waffles while Mikey stood at the stove cooking bacon.
I was about to speak up when one of his friends looked up and smiled at me. "Mike." They called getting his attention.
"What?" He asked but turned around and looked at me. "Good morning." He smiled and walked over towards me.
"Morning." I said slowly as I watched him walk over to me.
He stopped a few feet in front of me and looked at my outfit. "How did you sleep?"
"Alright." I gave a small smile even though I was utterly confused by his sudden change in moods.
"Good to hear. Do you want some waffles?" He as as he walked over to an empty chair, pulling it out and motioning for me to sit.
"Yes please." I smiled at the curly haired boy as I sat next to him. "Oh but can you make mine with-"
"Chocolate chips. Yeah, got it!" He waved me off.
"How did you know that?" I asked before he turned around a gave me a stupid look. "Right. It's 'your job to know everything about me'." I quoted him.
"That a girl!" He winked before turning around. "Oh! By the way that's Ashton, Calum, and Luke." He said pointing to each of his friends with the spatula that his right hand held tightly.
"Hi." I smiled as they all waved and said a 'hello'.
"So your name is-?" Ashton asked.
I looked to Mikey to make sure it was okay for me to say anything, the last thing I wanted was to be yelled at again. Once he gave me a small smile and a nod I looked back to Ashton and said, "My name is Blair."
"That's a pretty name." Luke said giving me a wide smile.
"Thanks." I said before looking back at Mikey.
His back was turned towards me while he fixed the waffles and bacon. I couldn't stop the smile that spread over my face as I watched him. I hardly knew this man but the sheer admiration I felt towards him made me feel that safe feeling you get when you're wrapped in a big comforter, it was like a warm safety.
"So have you always we lived in New York?" Ashton asked as he took a bite of his breakfast.
I shook my head and was about to answer when Mikey spoke up.
"Ashton, I told you already that you can't know anything about her but her name." Michael reminded him.
"Oh-" Ashton nodded as he finished chewing. "Right. Well you see, when you gave us a lecture this morning I wasn't actually listening." He spoke.
Michael gave him a 'Seriously?' look, causing me to laugh. "You never have so why start now?" Mikey joked.
Ashton laughed as Mikey turned around holding two plates with chocolate chip waffles and strawberries on the side. Right as Mikey set the two plates down his phone started ringing with a high pitched beep. Everyone stopped what they were doing to look at Mikey.
"Alright boys." He said as he looked at his phone and shushed the beeping.
Without another word the three boys were all setting their silverware down and standing up.
"Well it was nice to meet you, Blair." Calum smiled.
"Oh. Yeah, you too!" I smiled before standing up.
We all said our goodbye's as Mikey walked them to the door. I sat in the kitchen staring at my waffle as I strained to hear what Mikey had been saying to his friends. I could only catch random words that seemed to have no value whatsoever so I gave up and sipped my orange juice until Mikey came back.
"Sorry about that. They're going home and I'm not sure when they'll be back so I just needed to say goodbye and all that." He spoke as he pulled his chair, that was across the table from mine, out and sat down. "You didn't need to wait for me to eat, you know." He scolded as he took notice that I hadn't touched my food.
"It's the polite thing to do." I stated as I picked up my utensils and started eating. "Oh my gosh." I said, closing my eyes and savoring the taste.
"Good?" Mikey chuckled.
"Unbelievably." I smiled at him as he started eating. "So are they going to be okay?" I asked, worrying that I had messed everything up last night.
Mikey looked up from his plate with confusion written all over his face before he smiled. "They'll be just fine. There was a reason they couldn't know more about you then just your name." He said gently.
I nodded and took another bite. "I'm- um I'm sorry about last night. I didn't know and-" I tried apologizing but was cut off.
"Blair, really it's okay. You had no idea that you weren't suppose to come out from your room- hell, you didn't even know they were here. I should have been a little more clear about the rules too. You don't need to apologize." He smiled before eating a strawberry.
"Okay." I said shyly as I looked down at my breakfast.
"Everything will work out just fine, babe." He secretly promised.
I looked up at him and studied his face before answering. "I'm holding you to that, Clifford."
