Calum's POV

"Okay so I'll be back in a few hours." Michael spoke as he scrambled around the house to gather his things while Blair and I stood watching him. "Um-all the numbers you may need are on the counter with some money for lunch and the few things she's allergic to are written on the call paper as well."

"Mate, I think we can handle it." I laughed as he finally came to stand in front of us.

Michael sighed as he ran his fingers through his hair. "Yeah, well um- just call me if anything goes wrong." He spoke sternly as he eyed the two of us.

"Mikey, we will be fine. Go to work." Blair laughed as she stepped forward.

I watched as his face softened when she wrapped her small arms around his waist. He sighed as he wrapped his long arms around her small frame and placed a gentle kiss on the top of her head.

"Alright, I'll see you guys in a little while." Mikey said before grabbing his stuff and heading for the door.

"Bye!" Blair and I both called out before the door was shut and locked.

"So,-" I turned back to Blair. "What should we do?"

Mikey's POV
I sat across the cold metal table in a cold metal chair as I struggled to find the proper words. Guards were standing right outside the large door that contained multiple locks on the other side.

"It's like I don't even know you anymore." I let disgust fill my voice as Liam looked up.

He smirked and pulled at the handcuffs before speaking. "Because you don't."

"What the hell happened to you? What's happened in the last year that's made you like this?" I spat.

He rolled his eyes at me. "A lot can change in a year, my friend."

"You almost fucking killed her!" I yelled.

I couldn't take it anymore. I couldn't sit across from someone that I used to call my best friend and watch him act like what he had done was nothing.

"That was the point, Michael." He spoke.

"And why the hell would you do that?" I asked as I leaned back in my chair.

"Well if she would have just come with me without a fuss then it would have been fine."

"How did you even get in my building?" I asked.

"Everyone knew who I was. Michael Clifford's best friend doesn't need badge access." He states.

"What did you plan on doing if you had gotten her away from me? Take her back to New York to them? When did you even start working for them?" I questioned.

Liam let out a laugh as he stared at me. "Since when did you become a man of many questions? I needed money."

"I could have given you money if you needed it that badly!" I shouted.

"I didn't need your help." He spit angrily.

I had had enough of this in all honestly. "What happened to you, Liam? You were my best friend."

I watched as Liam's demeanor changed completely. He sat up taller as his face scrunched up in pure anger.

"You weren't there!" He yelled. "I went through hell and you never knew because you were to damn busy with your new life and your new friends! As soon as the money started rolling in for you I was completely left behind! You have no clue what I went through! Once you went to New York I never heard from you again! I bet you didn't even know my mum had left when my father was arrested for embezzlement, did you? Of course you didn't."

He laughed bitterly. "Because all you care about is yourself and this stupid job of yours."

I sat there and watched him as his chest heaved and his cuffed hand were balled into fists. I was trying to process what he had said when he spoke up again.

"And now that we know who's running this business it will be a hell of a lot easier to destroy you and the company."

I instantly stood up and walked over to the door to call the guards in.

"Get him out of my building." I addressed them. "Have a good time in jail." I spat before walking out.

I angrily stormed out of the room to make my way to my office so I could get my shit and leave. While a part of me did feel guilty for leaving my friend it was quickly washed away. He hadn't any idea what had happened in my life either.

He had no idea what I had been through and for him to accuse me of leaving when he did that same was hypocritical. My mind was swarming with things I should have said or what I could have done to prevent this that I didn't even notice someone calling my name.

"Mr. Clifford!" She called once more.

I whipped around to come face to face with one of the spies for the agency. "Oh- I'm sorry Kate. I was distracted."

She laughs but quickly fall into step with me as I begin walking. "I could tell."

I hum in agreement. "So what are we looking at?" I ask.

She sighed. "Well, he's looking at ten years jail time if all goes well."

I raised my eyebrows at the American girl. "What does that mean?"

"There will have to be a trial and Blair will have to testify against him. Eight years for manslaughter and two for taking part in illegal organizations and activities." She spoke quickly.

"Manslaughter?" I questioned. I knew he had planned to kill her but he didn't.

"The definition of manslaughter is going with the intention of killing someone, not actually killing them." She explained.

I nodded in understanding as we stopped outside of my office. "Well, I'm sorry that you've been stuck here so long, I'm sure you'd like to go home."

She shrugged. "I actually am quite enjoying Australia and the people here." She smiled.

"Right. Well as soon as the trial is over you are free to return home or stay." I said.

She nodded and quietly thanked me before we said goodbye. All I wanted to do was to crawl in bed and wrap my arms around a certain blonde girl.
