Things Change

Things change so fast, it's hard to keep track
The world moves on, it never looks back
The people we love, they come and they go
Leaving behind memories, like melting snow

The places we knew, they're no longer the same
The streets we walked, they bear a new name
The buildings we cherished, now torn down and gone
Leaving us with a feeling of being all alone

The friends we held dear, they drift away
Leaving us with nothing but memories to stay
The laughter we shared, now just echoes in our mind
As we realize, we've left so much behind

Life moves on, and we must move with it
But sometimes it feels like we just can't fit
Into this new world, so unfamiliar and strange
As everything around us continues to change

We try to hold on, to what we once had
But time slips away, like sand through our hand
And we're left with a bittersweet ache
For the things that have changed and the memories we make

But we must remember, change brings new beginnings
And though it may hurt, it's also a chance for us to start living
To embrace the unknown, and all that it brings
For in change, there's also beauty and wings

So let us not dwell on what's lost and gone
But instead, look to the future with a hopeful song
For things may change, but we'll always remain
With the strength and resilience to weather any pain
