"Explain from the beginning to the end. Immediately." Danielle was really eager for me to spill the beans, so she grabbed a big bowl of popcorn and dashed into the living room.
We all settled down on the floor, like we always do, and all of the girls eyes were fixed on me, like I was the TV about to spill some juicy gossip.
I couldn't help but chuckle as I launched into the story of what went down between Soobin and me.
"So, I walk into the bookstore and have a little chat with the owner. You know who I'm talking about, right?" I started.
"Oh yeah, we know him. How's he doing?" Haerin asked, a mix of concern and curiosity in her voice.
"He's doing alright. Oh, and he sends his greetings to all of you," I replied. "Anyway, after catching up with him, I start browsing through some books, just checking them out quickly. I ended up grabbing a few that caught my eye."
"Quit being thrilling, just tell us already!" Minji interrupted, which made all of us burst into laughter.
"Okay, okay," I continued. "So, I pick up this poetry book, and as I'm about to put it in my bag, I notice there's a bookmark inside. Then, right at that moment, someone comes rushing in and asks for the bookmark. And you can all guess who it was."
The girls glanced at each other and then back at me before shouting out the name together.
"CHOI SOOBIN!" they yelled in unison, which wasn't really surprising anymore.
All six of us squealed with excitement, like little girls getting their favorite ice cream. We were the perfect picture of what every typical teenage girl goes through when they have a crush or someone they love.
It's always amazing to talk about it with people who understand, support, and care about you. I'm grateful to have sisters like them.
"What happened next?" Hyein asked eagerly.
"I showed him the book and the bookmark, and it turned out to be his. 하라버지 (grandpa) gave me a funny grin, and then we left. We got some drinks and walked back home, and here we are," I replied, settling down on the ground with them.
We snuggled up to each other, just like we always do.
"This is so romantic, like destiny wants you two to be together," Minji said, placing her hand on mine.
"Yeah, it's adorable. I'll definitely tell my kids about Auntie's love story one day," Danielle added, laughing along with the rest of us.
"I can't wait for him to ask you out. It's so obvious that he likes you!" Hanni exclaimed.
"I totally agree! I think he's just afraid to talk about it because he doesn't want to ruin the friendship you two have," Haerin chimed in with her opinion.
