"I'm not living in your mansion." I casually open the netflix on television and ignore Shawn's tantrums. I didn't wait for him to finish his work. Pumunta ako sa unit ko at iyon ang pinagmamaktol nya.
"But that place is better. Mas malapit iyon sa kompanya." He sits near me and remove his coat.
"I don't care I'm staying in this condominium." I just don't want to move in his house. Kapag ginawa ko iyon mas lalo nya akong maaangkin.
"You want to stay in this building? Regardless of where?" He ask habang humihiga sya sa aking hita. I stiffen because I'm only wearing a short and sando silk pajama.
"Why do you keep asking ba. My unit is not that bad. If you don't want it here then leave." He tried to act cute and I roll my eyes at him. Sobrang kulit nya para akong nag aalalaga ng bata.
"I don't have an office here. Wala akong mapwestuhan. Besides we need a bigger space para mas marami tayong maikutan pag nag aano." Binatukan ko sya at natatawa naman syang umangat at hinalikan ako.
"I'm not leaving this condominium. Bahala ka sa buhay mo." he smile at me meaningfully but I just ignore it. I'm too tired for this.
Kinaumagahan ay sabay kaming pumunta ng kompanya. I have a photoshoot in the morning and a ramp in the afternoon.
Social media platforms are still filled with news about my relationship and I just choose to ignore it. Bahala sila.
Mrs. Jones messages me about the shares I inherited. Sinabi nya na bumili sya ng additional shares and I didn't say anything. Honestly, she can run with that money and I wouldn't bat an eye. I don't even know what to do with that. I'm satisfied with my career and managing that chaotic company is too much.
Katatapos lamang ng photoshoot ko and I decided to visit Shawn bago magsimula ang ramp. Pagkadating ko sa top floor ay parang nagulat ang receptionist.
"Is Shawn there?" Agad naman syang tumayo at lumapit sa akin.
"Yes, Ma'am but he is talking to someone." I raised my eyebrow because she's acting weird.
"Client?" Mukhang hindi nya alam ang isasagot nya pero sa huli ay umiling sya.
"Who is it then?" It seems like she's hesitating whether to answer or not. I just gave her a straight intimidating look and she answered.
"Si Ma'am Alessa po." Nagpanting ang tenga ko. Why is he with her? Didn't he told me na he doesn't like her? Nagbago na ba ang isip nya dahil hindi ako pumayag lumipat sa mansyon? Or dahil may nangyari na ulit sa amin? Why? Did he have a sudden realisation? Like mas better sa akin si Alessa?
Many thoughts entered my head. I just can't understand why they are talking like this. Do they have any lingering feelings with each other?
I toughen myself and swallow a bit of air. Naglakad ako papalapit sa pinto. Pipigilan sana ako ng receptionist pero tinitigan ko sya ng masama.
The room is soundproof but it's not lock. Buti na lang kung hindi mas lalo akong magdududa sa kanila.
"I told you that's not gonna happen!" Shawn is visibly mad. Marahil ay hindi nila ako napansin dahil malayo sila sa may pinto but I can clearly hear their voices.
"Oh it's happening and I'm telling you that. You owe me this, so take initiative." Alessa said in a strong voice. What are they talking about?
"Are you crazy? I'm not playing your stupid game." My brows furrowed. Why are they fighting like this. May dapat ba akong malaman?
"This is not a game. I'm very desperate and serious. You played me and I let you leave when you don't feel like it anymore. You're not walking away this time. I deserve this much. I need your help. " My heartbeat is racing and I couldn't focus. I don't know what to think. What does she mean by that?
Natigilan ako ng tumunog ang phone ko at sabay silang lumingon sa akin.
'Shane calling...' Damn! Wrong timing. I decline the call at iniangat ang aking ulo. This is awkward.
"Baby kanina ka pa ba dyan?"Shawn look so worried while Alessa have a straight face. What's going on?
" Uh hindi naman. I just arrive. Hihiramin ko sana yung car keys kasi magdadrive ako sa venue ng ramp. " I lied through my nose.
Lumapit sa akin si Shawn na dala ang susi habang nakamasid lamang si Alessa sa amin.
"I'm expecting a positive answer." My brows furrowed from what Alessa said.
"What do you mean?" I ask with cold voice. I can see her eyes waver but she quickly collect herself.
"You'll know it soon." She said before she walk out the door. Shawn curse for a minute and I gave him cold and accusing look.
"What does she mean? Are you hiding something from me?" Kumunot naman ang noo nya at inakbayan ako.
"It's nothing. She's gone crazy baby. May ramp ka diba? Ihahatid na kita." Inalis ko ang kanyang kamay at tinitigan sya ng masama.
"No need. I can go on my own. Sasabay na lang ako kina Shane." I didn't let him answer as I walk fast through the door. Susunod pa sana sya ng may dumating na clients and I can tell that they are important.
Nakasimangot ako buong byahe papunta sa event place. I just couldn't get their fight out of my head. Alessa didn't show up to the company for the last few months tapos makikita ka sya na nakikipag away kay Shawn? I don't even know what to think.
The event ended and I just couldn't wait to ask him more questions. I just know that this will bug me to death if I didn't ask. We're in a relationship, right? I'm entitled to ask question.
I arrive at the company. Papasok na sana ako sa loob ng makita ko si Alessa. It seems like she's waiting for me dahil agad syang lumapit ng makita ako.
"What do you want?" I fix my posture and gave her a sophisticated look. She checks me out and she gulp a little before she answer.
"Can we talk?" She said in a serious voice. Something is telling me not to agree but I couldn't.
"About what?" I raise one of my eyebrow as I cross my arms.
"Not in here." Tumalikod sya at nagsimulang maglakad sa isang empty room. Umupo ako sa sofa habang nakatayo lamang sya.
"So what do you want." I cross my legs and watch her toughen her resolve.
My world crumble and I almost lose my sanity with what she said next.
"I'm pregnant."
