LACEY, NJ; 2:20pmWe had just arrived to Julia's house in Lacey. It was a big, white house with a nice, green front garden. Julia greets us at the door, as we enter with out bags.
"Hi! Welcome to my house, make yourselves feel at home since this is your house now too!" She says, excitedly. She was a very enthusiastic, bubbly person, I see why my dad loves her.
A brunette girl, with brown eyes and light freckle across her face, comes down the stairs. Haley, she's Julia's daughter who was my age. She smiles at me sweetly. This was the first time I had met her although I had already met Julia multiple times.
"Haley, honey, could you show the kids to their rooms?" She asks. Haley nods, leading us up the staircase.
She brought us to a room at the end of the hallway, which was Luke's room. It was pretty big. Way bigger than the room we had in our old house. Then she brought me to my room. Well ours.
"This is our room. We're sharing, I hope you don't mind," She says, nervously. I assure her that I was completely comfortable with that.
I walk over to the bed that looks to be new and just set up for me. Half of the room was empty, like it had been cleared with old the other half with Haley's bed was decorated with posters and filled with memories. I notice she had many medals and trophies on her shelves along with pictures hung on her wall. Pictures of her friends, her boyfriend? I'm not sure but they look pretty close in that photo so i'm assuming so.
"What are those medals and trophies from?" I ask, wanting to get to know her better.
"Cheerleading! I'm a cheerleader at Lacey High," She beams.
"That's cool! I've never met a cheerleader before," It was true. There was no cheerleading at my school back in Penn.
"Is that your boyfriend?" I point to the picture on the wall. My eyes widen as I realise how nosey I was being," I'm sorry, I don't mean to be intrusive or anything I just want to get to know you better-"
"No its okay. I want to get to know you better too. And yes that is my boyfriend," She smiles.
I nod. In turn, she asks me about my life. Like how was school like, about me releasing my album. Haley never made me feel like I was out of place. Though she was a fan of the songs she didn't treat me like some celebrity living in her house.
I notice how cluttered her side of the room was. Like she had to move all her stuff to one side just to make space for me. Like I was pushing in on her life .
"I reallly hope you don't feel like i'm intruding in your life. I know this is a big change for you too," I mutter, feeling guilty.
"No way! I've always wanted siblings," She assures me."It gets kinda boring being the only child," She gives me a half smile. I could only imagine. I never knew what I would do without Lucas even if he is a pain in the ass most of the time.
