When we got back to our booth we sat in silence for a few seconds before I decided to break it.

"So tell me more about yourself." I said and took a bite of my chocolate slice cake. She looked at me and released a little sigh.

"Well what do you want to know?" She questioned and I shrugged.

"Anything."

"Fine, my favourite colour is dark red, I like to go shopping when I'm in a bad mood. My favourite food is pizza. I like romantic movies and I'm allergic to cats." I hummed and nod.

"Interesting."

"What about you." She asked and took a sip of her coffee.

I sighed and run my hand through my hair.

"I like action movies and thrillers, I love tacos like a lot. My favourite colour is forest green. Cats are my favourite animal." I let out a smirk before I continued. "And I'm allergic to strawberries." She let out a smirk and I rolled my eyes.

"What?" She let out a chuckle.

"Now I know what to give you when you piss me off." I shook my head with a little smile.

"You'll kill me, I was once hospitalised by that by the way." She shook her head with a small smile.

"Whatever." I said with a smile and then cleared my throat.

"So what about your parents." I ask and leaned back against my seat.

"Well my dad is the CEO of his own company and have a few companies in other countries and my mother is a lawyer." She explained and I nod.

Okay so very rich, got it.

"What about your parents?" She questioned and I began to regret that I ever asked about her parents.

"Well my mom passed away last year and my father is a mechanic." I avoided her gaze when I said that. I'm not going to go in detail with her about my mom since I don't trust her at all.

"I'm sorry about your mom." She said softly that it shocked me. She never talked to me in that tone like ever. It's always harsh and cold when she talks to me but now it's soft and sweet.

"Thanks." I whispered and cleared my throat.

"So what else do you want to know." I asked her. I suddenly want to get out of here and fast.

"I don't know I think that's all for now." She said and I nod.

"Okay, well I'm going to go." I pulled my wallet out of my pocket and was about to pull out a twenty dollar bill out but she slapped my hand again.

"Will you stop that!" I snapped and she smirked.

"No, it's on me." She said and pulled out a black car and I rolled my eyes.

"Thank you, but I can pay for my own stuff." I grumbled and she rolled her eyes.

"I know but it's my treat." She shrugged and I sigh.

"Right, thanks again I'll see you tomorrow." I stood up and made a beeline to the coffee shop door, I didn't even wait for her to say anything.

I suddenly felt relieved when I got outside and breathed in the cold air.

Then I made my way home.

———

My heart dropped to my stomach when I saw my father's truck in the driveway. I really hope he's not drunk.

I unlocked the front door and closed it softly behind me. I can hear the TV is on and I smelled the beer that he's drinking from a mile away. I almost gagged at the wrenching smell of alcohol and cigarettes.

I slowly made my way to the living room and saw my father sitting on the couch with a beer bottle in his hand.

He turned his head towards me and glared at me.

"Where the fuck were you." He asked me as he slurs.

Definitely drunk.

I swallowed the lump in my throat.

"I was at school at the library, studying for a test." I said quietly and I watched him frown. He suddenly stood up and my heart started beating faster in my chest as he made his way towards me.

"And why not study here!" He's voice boomed and my eyes widen when I see his ragged- fulled eyes.

"I'm sorry." I mumbled and he laughed suddenly like a fucking maniac.

"Are you avoiding me." He asked me suddenly and I shook my head frantically.

"No I'm not." He shook his head and tsk.

Before I could even move I felt his fist connected with my cheek and I screamed out in pain.

"Don't fucking lie!" He screamed his voice booming through the whole house and I hold back a sob.

I felt a harsh blow to my stomach and this time I let out a sob. I think on of my ribs cracked.

"Get out of my fucking sight. Now!" I scrambled to my feet and run up the stairs to my room and slammed the door behind me and locked it.

I leaned against my bedroom door and let out another sob.

When will this shit end.
