"In one week!" Nani was the first to react to reading the schedule. "Ahhh!" They all squealed and hugged each other. I was the only one not happy about this. In one week!?!? They couldn't have given us a little more time? I decided to forget it for now and focus on calming Nani and Sierra down before their moms got here.
"Why don't we head to the livingroom to wait?" I ask, steering the squealing bunch towards the door. I will have to read through all this information, but I can't do it while there is screaming girls looking over my shoulder.
Luckily they were too excited to notice that I was ushering them away from the computer, down the stairs, and into the livingroom. All of the sudden, they must have realized what one week meant. It meant that they only had one more week together before Maddie was gone for a year. And then the tears came. Of course, Maddie promised to call, text, and Skype all of the time.
"We can also hangout all week." Maddie says, still trying to comfort her upset friends.
"I'll text my mom and see if you guys can come home with me." Nani says, finally calming down.
"Yeah. I'll text my mom and ask too." Sierra adds, still wiping tears from her cheeks.
Maddie looks at me wordlessly and I just nod. Nani, Sierra, and I sit in silence as Maddie runs upstairs to pack her bag and bring her friends bags back down. I take this time to text both Kate and Sam in our group chat that I am leaving in one week. They both reply almost instantly saying that they will be over immediately. Maddie comes back down with the bags and we sit and wait for Nani's mom to show up.

Not even five minutes after Nani's mom pulled out of the driveway, I could hear Sam and Kate pulling in. Sam had picked Kate up from work to go get her car that was being worked on, but apparently it was more important that they get here fast. I open the door and they both hurry in. Sam is the first to hug me, Kate quickly after him.
"Let's go sit in the livingroom." Sam says and leads the way, Kate and I trailing behind him.
"I'm gonna miss you at the diner." Kate says. And that's when it really hits me. I am going to have to quit my job and everything. Oh my god, this really sucks.
"I can't believe I will be gone a year. I will have to quit my job!" I blurt out. Sam and Kate both look sympathetic. I briefly consider backing out, but every time the thought crossed my mind, I picture how heartbroken Maddie would be and I know I won't do it.
"Well we don't have time to be sad. You are only here for one more week, so let's do something fun! Let's go to the mall!" Sam says enthusiastically and I can't help but want to smile back. Soon we are all jumping into my truck.
***
After spending the rest of the night with Sam and Kate, pointing out all the hot boys and shopping at Hollister and Abercrombie and Fitch, going on the trip was the last thing on my mind. I am so thankful to have friends like these two.
They both agreed to sleepover my house, so we gathered up all our bags and headed home.
***
Once we had sorted out all our clothes, we got out every blanket and pillow in the house. It was our ritual that when we have a sleepover with the three of us, we always make a giant nest of pillows and blankets. Then we turn out the lights and talk until the wee hours of the morning.
We made our best rather quickly, separating some blankets to lay on, and some to use as covers. Then we shut the lights off and got in. Sam was the one to start the conversation.
"So you are going to be gone a year with 4 hot guys. You better save me one." I roll my eyes.
"You can have any one you want." I reply, shaking my head.
"Oh, come on.." Kate says, bumping my shoulder. "You don't find even one attractive?" She looks at me doubtfully.
"No." I say sternly. Sam gives me the look that means he can tell I am lying.
"Oh, which one is it?" Sam says excitedly.
"I guess that Henry guy is alright." I reply reluctantly.
"Ahh!" Kate squeals. "You are going to be with him for a year! You never know what'll happen!" She says and I shake my head.
"Just because I think he is kinda cute doesn't mean anything." I reply, but it seems like Kate and Sam both ignore it.
We talk about a few other things before we start to get tired. Sam and Kate both snuggle up to me on either side and we all fall asleep together, forever and always.
Hey guys! I am not really happy with this chapter, but it was the best I could come up with. I'm sorry. Hopefully it will get better when Niall and Maddie start their adventure. Anyway.... Instead of a hat pic, I have a picture of Kate and Sam on the side/top! Surprise!! Well I love you all, and...
Stay extraordinarry!
