“How was school today?” I ask Maddie as she climbs into my truck.
“Good. At lunch, Sierra, Nani and I talked about how One Direction posted on twitter that the results of the contest would be up sometime during next week. They will also be posting clues about who won.” Maddie replies excitedly.
I am really glad that Maddie has Sierra and Kanani, or Nani, which is her nickname. Although I have only met them once, they seem to genuinely like Maddie for who she is.
“Hey, why don’t you have Sierra and Nani over sometime soon?” I ask Maddie, thinking that maybe having the pair over would help cheer her up. She is still a bit down about the fight with Meaghan and Julie.
“Really?” She asks, and her face lights up.
“Sure,” I say. “How about on Friday, that way I can pick all three of you up from school?”
“That sounds perfect!” Maddie squeals before jumping out of the truck that I had just pulled into the +driveway.

“Oh my GOD!” I hear Maddie scream from upstairs. I was in the kitchen cooking…. Yep, you guessed it. Soup.
“What?” I call. When I hear no answer, I turn the stove off and head up the stairs towards Maddie’s room. I walk in to see her staring at her laptop screen, with her mouth open in a silent scream.
Because I obviously wasn’t going to get any information from this hyperventilating child, I leaned over her shoulder to read the screen myself.
ONEDIRECTIONOFFICIAL: The winner of the contest will be a girl. She will be between the ages of 10-18. She must live in the United States of America. This is the only hints we can give until the winner is chosen.
In smaller print beneath that, it read:

“Why are you screaming about this?” I asked Maddie who seemed to be calming down a bit.
She turned to me with a shocked expression. “Why? I will tell you why. THIS COULD BE ME!” She practically yells.
I give her a stern look. “Maddie, we talked about this. I told you not to get your hopes up, and you promised you wouldn’t. There are thousands of girls who fit those standards.” I tell her firmly.
“But…” she starts to say, but then trails off. “I guess you’re right. But it is still cool that there is the possibility that I might know the person.”
“Did you ask Nani and Sierra if they could come over on Friday?” I ask in an attempt to change the subject. Apparently it worked, because her eyes suddenly lit up and she nodded excitedly.
“Yeah. The both can come!” She replies happily. I smiled, because I know that Maddie is cheered up already.
Well, this should be interesting.
Hey guys! It has been too long... :( My laptop is still broken, so I am going to try and start typing on my tablet, as much as I don't want to. Anyway, I am soo excited to be posting this chapter! It was supposed to be a Christmas gift, but I ended up going on vaction where there was no wifi, so that didn't happen. Oh, there is a cute Niall hat pic on the side! Yay!
