"There's no way in hell am I gonna let you involve yourself with that asshole!" Kurina yelled into the microphone, you took the phone off of your ear and winced at the volume of your device
You placed your feet on your dining table and sighed, throwing your head over the chair you were on "he's broken your heart before and he's gonna do it again! Second chances never work y/n"
"You say that yet you would go back to the same man over and over again before you met reo" you whistled as you crunched into a crab leg "mhm, this is so good" you let out a satisfied sigh "Y/n, you're not that silly little highschool girl again- you're actually an influential woman now, what if you get shamed publicly by him? What would happen then?"
"Sae would kill him, literally" you joked a little to lighten up the mood "As your manager and best friend I am not gonna tolerate this foolish behaviour! Just because he explained why he ghosted you- doesn't mean you can just go on about being his friend" you scrolled through instagram and you listened to Kurina yelling your ear off
"We're just friends, calm down. It's not like I'm gonna fall head over heels for him again- I learnt my boundaries and I will set them in place if he goes over the red line. If he disrespects those boundaries I'm cutting him off, simple. Just because I'm influential it doesn't mean I can't be private as well, I'm not dumb like some other people like Kevin leornado who posts Tiktoks while he's shitting"
"And if that does end up happening and he ends up telling everyone about everything then so what? I'm not in the wrong, if he opens his mouth and spills then he's eating himself out" You take a bite out of a soft boiled potato and hummed
You hear Kurina sigh on the other end and you scrolled even further on your instagram reels (11:48pm) 'nagiseishiro_real' has followed you
You slowly chewed on your potato, was this really him? You clicked on the profile and just by the followers and likes he had you could tell it was real but you decided to be a little curious and to go through his posts
"Are you even listening to me right now!?" "Shut up, he added me on insta" you replied and you could practically hear kurinas eyebrow twitching
His posts consisted of screenshots of his games, pictures of his gaming setups, playbacks of his soccer goals and the members of Japans national team
You paused when you landed on a post that got you a little surprised It was a video that reo recorded- they were in a fancy looking house and nagi was with bachira and isagi. They were doing the blind, deaf and mute baking challenge
Nagi was the mute- but... he didn't have a shirt on and he wore his most popular... grey sweatpants
He changed, a lot since you last saw him. His hair touched his shoulders and he had at least five tattoos littered on his torso. One on his back; a thin striped spine tattoo. Another on his bicep which was a weird looking heart, another started at the curve of his neck to just below his jawline- another thin stripe. One was on his hip and v-line, a spider. Must be a reference to hunterxhunter
And the last one.The one that stood out the most was the one on his chest, where a human heart is placed and it wrote 'spring' with a few random flowers around it
You stopped chewing and blinked a few times,nagi hates sprint- why did he have it tattooed?
'Their eyes and hair are boring too, but yours are like.. spring' your mind had went back to the night you had texted nagi for hours on end and when he first called you beautiful
"Listen y/n-" "Kurina" you interrupted "what do you want now?" She sighs dramatically "He tattooed his nickname for me on his chest" you continued to watch the video as your eyes only stayed on nagi
His soul left his body when bachira; the blind one, had mixed up the salt and sugar and poured the salt instead of the latter "why is it so salty?" Isagi, the deaf one asked- unknowingly yelling . He wasn't looking at bachira when he poured the 'sugar'
Nagi snatched the bowl from the brunette and did his best to scoop out the salt "Haha look at these idiots! Bachira used salt instead of sugar!" Reo laughed as he zoomed in on nagi's annoyed face
"It was salt?" Bachira asked as he tried to waddle his hands around, trying to locate his friends You slowly brought your knees to your chest and continued watching the video as you dug your lower face between your knees and chest
The video brought you nostalgia, back when you were all in highschool and were all dumb teenagers free from the chains of adulthood. Sure, you were this popular woman- strong, beautiful and influential and you had a bunch of money you didn't even know what to spend on but
All those things could never compare to when everything was going perfect, when you an nagi were in a nice smooth-sailing relationship and you slowly broke all your walls to introduce so many people that ended up being your motivation to walk a step further in life instead of standing still
You missed hanging out with bachira, his energy always getting you annoyed yet he lights up any room he walks into. You missed isagi being the polite one- always scolding his friends for their bad behaviour. You missed just needing to call shidou once for him to pick up, you missed rin; your grumpy buddy. You missed the feeling of knowing that sae would always be there for you
But now, all of those people had distanced themselves from you- not even knowingly yet your friends had slipped from your fingers and you had slipped from theirs aswell
You listened to reo and bachira laughing at his idiocy "Seishiro doesn't seem happy at all" reo stated the obvious
"You don't seem to be enjoying this, seishiro" you laughed
You grabbed two chunks of shidou's hair and used them as joysticks to control where he goes "What are you doing on my brother's shoulders!" Kurina barked and you shrugged "I dunno" she placed a hand on her hip "well nagi and reo are supposed to be here already. I just can't see them?" She said as she looked around
Shidou scrambled to his feet, holding you as you clung onto him like a koala. His arm was secured around your hips to support you. You pointed a finger to the picnic blanket isagi and bachira were setting up "Onward soldier!" You yelled and shido started marching like a soldier
"Are you listening y/n? Don't tell me you're stalking his instagram page!"
"I miss highschool Kurina. When everyone was still closely together and were just one call away"
There was a few moments of silence on the other end of the phone and you heard a sigh, but it wasn't dramatic. It was more one of you reminiscing
