DECEMBER 22ND.
It marked another milestone in Kageyama's life, turning sixteen—he should be happy. After all, his morning was filled with greetings, gifts and kisses from his family (especially his mother), a hearty breakfast and his teammates clapping his shoulder with the usual smile and line, happy birthday! Though he should be happy, there was something missing that's left a huge frown on his face the whole time during morning practice. It was the fact that he hadn't heard a single peep from his girlfriend— not a message, call, nor the fact that he hasn't even seen her. Of course, Kageyama usually goes over to the Ukai residence to pick her up so they could walk together to school, but she wasn't even home once he got there, merely given a sympathetic smile from Coach Ukai's mother.
At first, he brushed it off as some weird coincidence that she might be busy and have simply forgotten but as the day goes by and lunch rolls around, his frown grows deeper and his mood eventually sours. He checks his phone— no notifications. Kageyama takes this as a chance and goes to her classroom to see if she was there but much to his dismay, he was only greeted by Tsukishima's aggravating face. He couldn't even bring himself to ask the tall blonde in the case his mood worsens from his quips and sarcasm, so he walks away and tries to check her guitar club and unfortunately, she wasn't there either.
Eventually, the raven-haired male gave up and returned to class without having eaten any of his lunch, which only fueled his annoyance for the rest of the day. Nothing from his classes made sense to him; his notes were all gibberish, and during practice, he vented his frustration through harsh serves that echoed loudly against the wooden floors. Anyone could tell that he was having a bad day and even someone like Hinata could pick up that it was because of Mina. There were only a few things in this world that could easily influence Kageyama's mood and his girlfriend was easily on top of that list, which could either be heaven or hell for those around him.
