"WE PREFER IT IF YOU COULD COME AS SOON AS POSSIBLE."
"S-Sorry?" Mina blinked, startled. Her brows knit together as she leaned closer to the laptop. "As soon as possible, sir?"
That night, with a heavy heart, Mina made the abrupt decision to return to Miyagi for the meeting—much to everyone's dismay, especially Kageyama's. She stayed until Karasuno left the venue, shared dinner with them, and finally parted ways at the inn. Naturally, the raven-haired setter insisted on walking her to the station. Despite their hard-earned victory, his mood was noticeably dampened by the thought of her leaving. All it earned him was a warm laugh and a playful pinch to the cheek.
"I'll cheer you on from Miyagi," Mina said with a soft smile, reaching up to caress his cheek. "Tobio-kun will cheer for me too, right?"
"Yeah," he murmured.
"Thank you." The announcement echoed through the station, cutting through the moment. Mina turned toward the platform. "Okay, hwaiting!"
A quiet snort escaped Kageyama when Mina raised her fists in a tiny cheer. He mirrored the gesture, slower and more reserved. "Hoowaiting."
That bittersweet goodbye still clung to her thoughts. Mina's fingers hovered above the keyboard, fidgeting slightly. Her eyes blinked slowly as her mind drifted back to the present. The video quality was grainy, but it was clear Mr. Kim was talking. She quickly realized she'd tuned him out.
"...everything okay, Mina?" He waves his hand a little, staring at the screen in confusion as if the camera had stopped working abruptly.
"Y-Yeah, sorry about that, Mr. Kim," Mina gives him a small smile that doesn't quite reach her eyes. "It's just... it's really sudden and the school year's not quite over just yet, so I'm not sure if I could just drop everything and go back home right away."
