"THANK YOU FOR YOUR HARD WORK!"

Bright, cheerful voices rang out as the girls lined up, bowing at a perfect ninety degrees before the staff and the hosts, their pink, frilly outfits swaying with the movement. They were brimming with enthusiasm, just like any fresh-faced group stepping into the entertainment world. At that age, it was no surprise they could handle hours upon hours of filming—Mina couldn't help but feel a little envious of their youthful energy. The staff broke into applause, repeating the same lines to no one in particular—a sure sign that filming had wrapped for the day. Despite the ache in her bones and the exhaustion weighing down every part of her, Mina still offered a warm smile and waved goodbye to everyone as she slowly made her way around the set, thanking them for their work that day. At the ripe age of twenty-two, and now in her fifth year in the industry, she could only feel grateful that she hadn't needed any major procedures—like knee surgery or vocal cord nodule removal—that so many of her colleagues had undergone.

It was horrible what the industry could do to a body, no matter how glamorous their jobs appeared from the outside.

"Good work today, Mina."

Much to her surprise, one of the older hosts came up from behind, offering her a smile as he patted her shoulder, his hand lingering longer than she would have liked. "I'm heading out with some of the staff and hosts for a celebratory dinner down at Baekjeong's. Want to join us?"

Ugh.

Mina couldn't help but internally grimace despite the kind smile she was showing him. He was always flirting and making crude jokes behind the cameras despite being known to the public as a "kind" and "devoted" husband. Celebrities with similar circumstances infested the industry and everytime she had to work with people like him, touching and making comments about women like they were above everyone, Mina had to pass by a nearby church to pray all her unkind thoughts away. But as it is, her job was still filled with people who follow in his steps. The media training that's been ingrained in her taught her to just smile and politely detach, no matter how much she wanted to yell and slap him.
