Full Moon (JiKook)

Chapter 42: Euphoria

Jungkook turns to the door when sobs breakout outside of his house. He frowns, assuming the families of the betas and alphas they lost today probably found out what had happened. He hurt too but he knew it didn't compare to the pain the families were in right now because he had never experienced losing a loved one but he knows it's horrible. He also knows that if today had gone differently then he most definitely wouldn't be in his house right now, with the love of his life sleeping in the next room.

His chest tightens just thinking about what if he had lost him today.

What if the witches never came and what if Jimin hadn't won that fight?

After everything what if he never got to even say goodbye to him or even be there when he gave his last breath.

"Jungkook?"

He gets snapped out of his horrible thoughts when a soft voice is heard from his bedroom.

The alpha had left the door opened just in case anything happened while he prepared some snacks for the smaller.

He releases a sigh, his heart warming and almost bursting at the voice alone.

Walking into the room he thinks he won't ever get used to the way his heart stutters every time they meet eyes.

Jimin shyly looks away, his cheeks growing hot just by making eye contact with the alpha.

"I- you're awake, you didn't sleep for long. Do you feel better?" Jungkook asks as he stands by the door.

"Yeah I um, I feel slightly better now. Where's everyone else, how are they doing?" The omega asks as he looks up at the older with worried eyes.

Jungkook gives him a small smile before he sighs and walks to his window.

"After I took you in my father and the rest of the pack tried to clean and tell the others what happened. Now I think they're preparing to bury those we lost."

Jimin frowns.

"I'm sorry, I know losing someone within your pack still hurts even if they weren't blood related." He says.

The alpha turns to look at him. Even after resting for a bit the smaller still looked tired and was looking at him with sad eyes making his wolf whine.

"Thank you." He says as he glances at at the floor.

"I can't help but feel so thankful that I didn't have to lose someone today. I don't even know what I would have done- what would have happened if I lost anyone, if I had lost-"

The room fills with tension and silence when the older abruptly stops, meeting the omega's eyes that had become shinier.

Jimin gulps when neither of them look away. Not helping his eyes from becoming glossy at the thought of losing Jungkook. That he probably wouldn't have even seen him for one last time if he hadn't defended himself from the vampire or if the witches had never shown up.

He could've lost him today.

"I... Jimin I would have gone insane if I had lost you. You have become so, so important to me that if I had lost you today I- I don't know what I would have done."

The omega looks down when a tear finally rolls down his face but it doesn't last long since the next thing he knows a pair of hands softly grab his face making him look up.

"My heart was beating like crazy when I found out you were in trouble. I felt so much anger towards those who attacked us but I knew I had to go find you first because I... I can't live without you." The alpha whispers after he had wiped away the omega's tear.
